About

Wages of War is a medieval strategy game in which you and your opponents play as fellow leaders in a siege against a castle! Though you share a common enemy, you will selfishly undermine each other at every turn. The player who does the most damage to the castle shall seize the glory and win the game!

My name is Ben Mora, and I am thrilled to introduce you to my new game! I have been working on Wages of War for 2 years now. I am not only the game's designer; I am the artist as well!

When I started Wages of War, I set out to create a game that I will love. If I would want to play it, even after countless play-testing sessions, then it will have been a success for me. I'm proud to say that I absolutely accomplished my goal! I LOVE my game! I think you'll love it too!

Inverse Worker Placement
What makes this game unique is the core mechanic that I like to call "inverse worker-placement."
Gamers who love worker placement games as well as games like Puerto Rico will love the “inverse-worker-placement” mechanic featured in Wages of War. Send your workers to set up buildings in the 5 encampments surrounding the castle, then issue orders for them to gather resources, produce weapons, hire soldiers, and attack!
Whereas most worker placement games have you placing workers on the various things you can interact with, in Wages of War, you station them at their post (converting workers into buildings) and then issue orders to them each round.
Issue Orders
On your turn you will pick one of the 6 orders to issue to one of the 5 encampments surrounding the castle. These orders determine what benefit each player will gain depending on how many buildings they have on the chosen encampment.

Using these 6 orders, your aim is to gather resources to produce weapons, and hire soldiers to wield them in battle.
Producing Weapons

There are two classes of weapon, hand weapons and siege engines.
Hand weapons require a soldier to wield them and siege engines are built as an add-on to one of your buildings.

Risks and challenges
This will not be my first successfully funded and delivered Kickstarter project: In 2014 I successfully released Flip! http://kck.st/1gBte3o
This project is a much bigger scale than my first.
Wages of War will be fulfilled in such a way that you, my backers, get the best price and pay NO customs fees. I have made the shipping cost as low as possible. The challenge/risk is that there are more factors in play than my first Kickstarter, but nothing new to the board gaming world.
