Campaign update

Dear backers

We are naturally very disappointed that the Moonspike Kickstarter campaign did not reach its funding goal.

However, more than 1,000 awesome people backed the project for a total of $123,000, and we are very grateful for that engagement. Even if we now receive no funding from this campaign, it has been great to see so many people offering fantastic support from all around the world.

We are going to spend some time reviewing our options and objectives, and then we will give an update about what this means for the Moonspike project in the future.

Many thanks for your support,

The Moonspike Team

Try to build up to it via smaller kickstarter campaigns i.e. a design phase, one or more construction phases etc.

It's a shame, I wish you all the best and hope you make the dream come true one day.

That is a shame, but I did leave a comment that just smashing into the moon would not be enough to engage people. I suggested some "stretch goals" that included landing a solar-powered transmitter safely on the moon and have all that data people were going to supply to you actually beamed back to Earth, available for anyone to receive with the right gear, for as long as possible. THAT would have inspired people. Did I even get a reply to my comment? Nothing. Sad news, but not surprising.
