Who is Monumental Market?
Monumental Market is what happens when three locally-owned businesses combine talents to offer beloved members of our community delicious, nut-free foods made with care. El Colombiano Coffee, Lavender Bee Baking Co. and Tipping Cow Ice Cream are proud to serve delicious baked goods, irresistible ice cream and choice coffees.
Monumental Market is working to raise funds to open at 36 South St. Jamaica Plain this spring and we need YOUR help!
Where Did The Idea For Monumental Market Come From?
Three heads are better than one! The three local business owners have been working farmers markets and local pop-ups for many years. When it came time to come up with a home base, we decided to combine our efforts and talents. With help from JPNDC, The Transactional Law Clinics of Harvard Law School and Laura Barley, the three businesses were able to form their dream into a reality; Hence, Monumental Market was born!
We are looking to refurbish the interior and exterior of our new storefront at 36 South Street in the heart of Jamaica Plain. We need your help to build a vibrant community space that'll serve delicious, homemade foods from scratch. We hope you'll be a part of what we're building.
What's Our Project Timeline and Goal?
We are looking to transform our space at 36 South st. Jamaica Plain into a nice, cozy, community space full of delicious homemade foods. We need to complete the project by April because we hope to get the store ready to open by Spring. $30,000 is our goal but our total start-up costs reach nearly $100,000. The money raised here will cover renovation costs, new equipment to furnish our redesigned kitchen, and general startup costs. We hope you'll make a donation to help make it happen!
One Last Thing...
We care about quality foods! We care about supporting local businesses! We care about our community and the people that make it shine! And...we care about you! So please, consider making a donation today to help make Monumental Market a reality!
Risks and challenges
Monumental Market has been an exciting process and we are prepared for the unexpected. The concept itself was a new challenge for all of us, but we were ready to take it head on and we have come a long way. We hope to raise $30,000, and we know that our start up costs will reach far beyond that. Renovations are never on schedule as expected and budgets fluctuate with unexpected costs; however, while we may not know what bumps are in front of us, we are dedicated to the mission of Monumental Market and the support from our community is what keeps us motivated everyday!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
