Because we also have a game aimed at families and kids (No Thank You, Evil!), it would be irresponsible of us not to make it clear that Invisible Sun is a different sort of game. It has deeper, mature themes and is more intricate in its involvement. It won't shy away from topics like death, violence, regret, loss, and yes, even (tastefully) sex. If you've got kids for whom No Thank You, Evil! would be appropriate, then Invisible Sun is not for them.
It's a deluxe game with a lot of components—4 books, hundreds of cards, a board, a resin sculpture, a medallion, and more. Like all MCG products, it will be jammed-packed with gorgeous art and mind-blowing content. http://invisiblesunrpg.com/corona/allthecomponents/
The Cypher System debuted with Numenera, and even then we knew it was applicable to many settings. For Invisible Sun, we created a system that was intricately interwoven to the setting, which required new mechanics. The gameplay of Invisible Sun demanded a unique approach. However, if you like the Cypher System, Invisible Sun has many of the same sensibilities. And of course, we love Cypher too, and will continue to support it.
Unlike other products, a big part of this game goes well beyond what you can put in a PDF—all the components and secrets in the game are physical. However, the game does come with a PDF of important setting and rules information for easy electronic searches (this PDF is not intended for an initial read-through, but rather to be used as a handy reference tool).
Also, it's worth noting that the Developmental Mode is designed so that it requires nothing but the app (or the Sooth Deck). The rest of the game is designed around the other cool components to help convey the difference between the modes. So play at the table revolves around the components—the cards, the Testament of Suns, the Path of Suns, the tokens, and so on. They aren’t “extraneous” in the Action or Narrative Modes.

All vislae know that sometimes amid the rain, valuable keys fall from the clouds. During these keyfalls, wise vislae collect special, mystical keys. If you back at one of the limited “key” levels, you’ll get—in addition to all the other stuff—a set of nine metal keys that you can use as useful Wicked Key tokens in the game. If you’re already a backer, simply adjust your reward to the key reward of the same value (if you cancel and then repledge, it will change which sun secret you get). Master the Black Cube and Merge with the Black Cube backers automatically get a set of keys. When a keyfall happens, it lasts until the key backer levels are full. Then it is over until the next keyfall. When will that be? You'll have to pay attention to learn that...
