Better late than never.
AnZa backers...here is the update we promised.
This last month has been rather challenging. We have been in tough negotiations with our manufacturer regarding costs, quality, and volume of machines produced. Finding resolution on these has proven difficult.
In order to solidify the relationship with our manufacturing partner, we have had to increase our order quantity beyond the number we have sold so far. Additionally, we have had to agree to a higher per-machine cost in order to insure the quality we want.
Until these issues were fully resolved it felt irresponsible to commit money and place the order, despite the pressure we feel to deliver the machines.
The good news: we now have a production date our manufacturing partner can commit to.
The not-as-good news: the delivery date is a disappointment, but it is the best we could negotiate. The machines will be ready to ship by December 31st 2018.
While we appreciate that this might not be welcome information, we hope you all understand the balancing act we are trying to manage: specialist, low-volume production with new-to-industry materials is challenging to get right. We take comfort (and hope you will, too) in knowing that if it was it easy everyone would be doing it.
All said, we feel more confident than ever that the machines are lining up to be something we are proud of—and are certain you will be proud to own, too.
