AnZa: Updates from the Manufacturer
After our last update, we’ve worked closely with the manufacturer to inform the latest round of design revisions. We are getting very close to our final model which will ship this August. Here are some of the improvements noted in this latest version.
Below is a sample of the etched lid iconography on the lid. Our design team has officially signed off on this design feature for final production.
Fit & Finish
Based on our component feedback from before, the machine now has a more precise fit and finish. We are always seeking the highest quality to ensure the machine meets everyone’s expectations.
Acrylic Lid on Water Tank
Manufacturing the glass lid on the water tank has been a challenge. In an effort to accommodate both aesthetics and function, our solution has been to use a colorless, transparent acrylic which looks great with the glass tank, and is less fragile if dropped.
Wood & Color
All the prototypes to date have used wood from a local supplier here in Berkeley. However, as we move into mass production we have chosen wood that is both more environmentally friendly and performs better when exposed to moisture.
We have implemented small improvements to the drip tray, which will ensure a consistent appearance. An improved material will reduce the chance of markings through increased durability. Below is an image of the updated drip tray.
Machine Shipping and Distribution
As you can imagine, shipping such a large and heavy item requires a specialized approach to shipping and handling. Our logistics team has been in discussion with several potential firms to ensure we can get the machine to you safe and sound!
The pledges are getting sent out by the end of the month and tamper packing is in full swing!
Thanks, as always, for all your support!
