About this project
Hey all you galactic fly-boys and girls, the time has finally arrived for you to jump back into the cockpit of that super charged intergalactic fighter and blast those invading alien hordes back to the slime pit they crawled out of.
Back in 1998, the team at Monkey Byte Development typed and clicked their fingers to the bone in order to bring Galactic Patrol to life; a game we loved making and loved playing.
We're ready to do it again; bigger, better, and with more awesomeness than before.
With A New Rendering Engine
We've seen some amazing technological advances in the 15 years since our original release of Galactic Patrol, the wait has been worth it.
This time around we’ll be using the Unity engine which brings tons of flexibility and depth, along with stunning visuals. An engine as mature as Unity will allow us to develop more detailed gameplay mechanics, art, design, and sound, for less money and in less time than ever before!
With New Aliens
The alien hordes will be back and badder than ever.
With New Ships
We love blowing stuff up... especially invading alien forces.
Our new ship designs will be the perfect solution for beating back invading alien waves.
With New Levels
The original Galactic Patrol had over 350 waves of aliens... with our reboot we plan to double that number for a mind numbing 700 waves of destruction.
With high score tracking and a new "survival" mode you will certainly have your hands full.
With New Views
While we'll still have the 3 main game-play styles ( Top, Side, 3/4 View ) we're approaching the views with new dynamic camera positioning which will allow a more fluid playing experience. With the dynamic view you'll get close ups of your newly designed ship for close quarter encounters and an expansive view for massive attacking hordes.
Risks and challenges
Our team has been making games and multimedia applications of all kinds since 1994. We've had our fair share of difficulties, but we always work through them; improving our process and our product as a result.
We are prepared to tackle each new hurdle with vigor and imagination.
We are ready to create a fun gaming experience that every backer and player can enjoy.
