For years, major bikini brands have treated women as all standard shapes and sizes. This simply isn't true – and Momoco is here to give women the choice in print AND cut of the bikini they would like to wear. Momoco is a concept bikini and a simple idea aimed at making women feel the most comfortable whilst the most naked they'll ever be in public.
The idea of Momoco is one of consciousness to your own body, providing a choice between 3 different bikini styles of top (triangle, bandeau and bra-style) and 3 different styles of bottom (European, Brazilian and shorts) within the print you select. We believe that the style of bikini you wear should be dictated by what you like and NOT having to compromise with what the market brings you.

We've poured all of this in to our new kind of look-book: “The Flip & Pick book”. Based an old nostalgic kids book, it's a fun and handy tool that makes it easy for you to 'flip and pick' through a range of shapes and prints.

Momoco isn't a specialist brand aimed at tiny or larger ladies. It's a new and simple vision on the bikini, focused on YOU, the female consumer. We're a brand with a clear vision and mission: to put women central again and to implement YOUR opinions on the brand. Therefore, alongside the collection we will regularly post new fabrics, prints and ideas and poll which ones should go in to production.
The bikini as a final product will be packed in a nylon pouch composed of the same print as your bikini. This pouch is especially designed to make the washing and storing of your bikinis easy and tidy. Our mission is to take away all the stresses related to bikinis.
Momoco is the brainchild of Itza Bocken, an entrepreneur based between Belgium and Beijing and co-founder of Belgian street-wear brand, Made By Chickies.
Alongside her is the A-Team of creativos, and without their help the project wouldn't be off the ground! Each one of them supports Momoco with their own talent and in their own way.
Why are we asking for money?
Firstly, we're using the Kickstarter platform because we want to present you this new perspective of a bikini brand to see if you'd support it. We want Momoco to be a 'democratic' brand, instead of sailing along in the corporate driven world.
Secondly, we're full of creative energy but simply don't have the monetary capital that's needed for the development of Momoco. We're not asking for much because we truly believe brands with soul need to grow organically.

Risks and challenges
With every ambitious undertaking, risks and challenges are posed. We believe we've taken the necessary steps to limit these.
We've carried out thorough research, to really get to know the market, and through this we were handed some great info.
We learned that most consider price, shape, print and brand, with no compromises to be the most important factor in choosing their bikini.
Not only did this tell us we're on to a winner, but has helped us understand which style bikini you'd be more inclined to buy. This will help us to no end when it comes to producing our bikinis, making sure we don't under or over-stock.
