Introducing Moment Air
Anamorphic Lens, Filters, & Cases...for Drones.
What Is Moment Air?
It’s not one but three new products (plus accessories)... all for DJI Drones.
Over the last five years we have made our camera phones better with lenses, cases, and camera straps. We wanted to do the same for our drones. In our exploration of how to make drones better we realized that shooting Anamorphic video was expensive, the filters weren't sharp enough, phone cases don't fit in the controller, no one wears drone backpacks and helipads weren't mobile enough.
We decided to fix all of that with Moment Air. Five years in the making this takes everything we have learned and brings it to drones.
Drone filmmaking will never be the same.
Don’t Have A Mavic 2?
If you don’t have a Mavic 2 and want us to make gear for your drone add your info to this survey so we can figure out how to bring moment to your drone.
Juicy horizontal flares, true black bars, and that buttery cinematic look. Attachable to the front of your DJI Mavic Pro or Zoom, this lens uses our premium glass to get that wide angle shot without losing compression. This lens will deliver the results that were once only reserved for hollywood camera setups.
The Lens That Gives Your Footage Character
Hand polished, we use cinema quality glass that you normally find in 4K cinema cameras. What makes our anamorphic lenses the best is how our proprietary design minimizes lateral chromatic aberration while using a unique set of coatings to deliver a horizontal flare associated with vintage anamorphics. The lens brings out unique flares in different conditions, from sunsets to headlights. Your footage will pop.
Still thinking, "What the fudge is an Anamorphic Lens?"
Basically, it's the holy grail of filmmaking. Sweet horizontal flares and that widescreen, letterboxed look. Typically super expensive, last year we made the anamorphic affordable for phones and this year we've tackled drones.
The 1.33x anamorphic lens brings the organic look and character of 2:40:1 Cinemascope to your drone. In other words, it’s like shooting a wider focal length in the horizontal direction and a longer focal length in the vertical. Now, with anamorphic lenses for the DJI Mavic Pro and Zoom, you can bring premium glass, cinematic aspect ratios, and juicy lens flares to your drone footage. Feather Light Construction
Drone gimbals can only handle so much weight, so we had to completely rethink how we built a lens to maintain peak gimbal smoothness. Using aerospace grade composites and metals, we created an entirely new construction we’re calling Featherlight™.
Lock and Balance Mounting System
There is no standard for how to attach and balance a lens on a drone, so we made one. Introducing our Lock and Balance Mounting System. It’s a two part design with a lens on one side and a counterweight on the other. The two parts clamp together over the drone’s camera, creating a secure lock that doesn’t impede the gimbal.
Attach ND Filters
Did you grab the filters? They are the secret sauce to controlling your exposure. We designed an all new set of anamorphic-specific filters that press fit onto the lens hood for minimal added size and weight.
Did you grab the filters? They’re super important.
In fire red, these CPL and ND filters make your drone (and the footage) look better. Our ND makes all the difference in giving you that slight, cinematic blur. Our CPL helps you change the light angle bouncing off bright surfaces. By using aerospace-grade materials we were able to cut unnecessary weight out of the filter body in order to maintain peak gimbal functionality. Using our same cinematic glass and custom coatings, these filters are the secret sauce.
We used aerospace grade aluminum to reduce standard filter weight by 10%, making these the lightest filters available for Mavic 2 drones. This puts less stress on the camera gimbal, allowing for the smoothest footage possible.
Backed by our heritage of award winning lenses, we brought our cinematic glass to drones. Combined with our proprietary coatings, these filters deliver the smoothest, crispiest, color neutral image imaginable.
Not only do these filters work seamlessly with the camera mounts on both Mavic 2 Drones, they’re also custom machined to provide more grip for attachment and removal. Stay frustration free while you change filters in the field.
Ready for whatever you can throw at them with advanced hydrophobic coatings, scratch resistant glass, and shatterproof construction. From Brooklyn to Iceland, these filters are prepared for takeoff wherever you feel like flying.
Fire Engine Red
These baby filters make your drone look faster. Or at least you won’t lose them like those other black filters.
We also call this the "fits in your drone controller iPhone Case."
Inspired by filmmakers, drone flyers, and minimalists this is the case you don’t have to take off to use. Its no-slip grip texture makes it easy to hold and its 0.75mm thinness means that it fits into your drone controller, gimbal, or tripod with ease. Its matte black design looks really, really good and it’s aerospace grade composite body only adds 12 grams to your phone. Its open spacing on the bottom of the iPhone makes it easier to connect a microphone, light or cable. While its M-Series mount means you can still shoot with a Moment lens. This is the case we always wanted to make.
Super Super Thin
This is by far the thinnest case we’ve ever made. At just .75mm thick, it fits into all kinds of mobile filmmaking accessories like drone controllers, gimbals, and audio rigs.
Easy To Plug In
Our custom geometry enables you to easily plug into the bottom of the case. Whether you’re connecting a microphone, light, cable, or a new iPhone gadget, we gave you plenty of room on the bottom of the phone to plug in.
Super Super Light
At just 12 grams, this is the lightest case that works with the DJI flight controller and gimbals like the Freefly Movi and DJI Osmo 2. No more taking your phone out of the case to use it.
With a proprietary coating process, we’re able to add our no-slip grip without adding another layer of material thickness. This makes the case extremely easy to hold onto, preventing drops and providing extra security inside the clamps of gimbals and tripods.
Built-in M-series mount to work seamlessly with our lenses. Reinforced by using new composite materials for extra strength and durability.
Drone Carry Case
We made a better case for carrying your drone because no one wants to carry a drone backpack. To make it easier to organize your drone gear in your existing bag, we made a packing cube that carries your drone, controller, power cables, filters, and anamorphic lens. It can even fit a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if you need. Its compact design allows you to slide it right into your backpack or travel bag, while its hard shell, padded interior, and weatherproof construction keep your gear safe from harsh impacts and nasty weather. It's so rugged that it comes with our... it lasts a long time guarantee.
Drone Battery Carry Case
Your drone shooting only lasts as long as your batteries, so we made a packable case to make carrying drone batteries easier. Whether you have a four pack or a two pack with a charger, this compact case slides into your existing camera bag. Its compact design allows you to slide it right into your backpack or travel bag, while it’s hard shell, padded interior, and weatherproof construction keep your gear safe from harsh impacts and nasty weather. This is a super clean way for keeping your batteries organized.
Drone Landing Pad
The helipad that does more for you. Like a changing mat for your surf session, the landing pad acts as a mobile work surface for setting up your drone and all the parts that come with it. When you’re ready to fly, it allows you take off and land your drone with ease, in any type of terrain. Its rugged construction prevents any dust, snow, dirt, or debris from coming in contact with the drone during takeoff and landing. And its thin, foldable design allows it to pack up and travel in any bag. Throw it down, set up your rig, let it fly.
We put our prototypes in the hands of our favorite drone flyers and filmmakers. What they captured in a few days blew our minds. We can't wait to see what you capture with this gear.

We come back once a year to Kickstarter. This is our home, our founding community. Without it we wouldn't exist.
Every year we try a bigger and bolder project. We invest our time and money to create something we believe our customers will love. And then bring it to Kickstarter to see if you want to buy it. The risk of manufacturing new products that customers don't want is very high. Your support helps us validate that we can afford the tooling and manufacturing costs for these new projects. This is a very real cost. But to protect our backers we don't spend the money we raise on Kickstarter until we ship your order.
Thank you for your continued support!
Hi. We're a community of 40 photographers, filmmakers, designers, and engineers who believe the world is a better place when you get lost and follow your camera.
We started on Kickstarter five years ago making mobile lenses. Thanks to your support now we do more than that. We make gear, develop apps, share tips, and run photo tours around the world. We even service our customers with pro Gear Guides who set up your gear and share advice on how to level up your photography or filmmaking game.

Risks and challenges
Producing a hardware product is never easy.
Our previous experience in manufacturing lenses, cases, waterproof action cameras, and wearables makes us better prepared for the unforeseen challenges we may encounter during the tooling, manufacturing, testing, and certification processes. We have already manufactured over 30 products at Moment with our same suppliers. This means we already have pre-established relationships to ensure consistent quality and testing processes.
Despite the familiarity with our supply partners, there is still risk in successfully tooling, assembling, and producing these products. In addition to the challenges that present themselves with manufacturing, we will need to continue testing the products to ensure best performance. Failure could result in significant delays in troubleshooting, redesigning, and retesting.
Our target shipping dates are by the end of November. We would love to ship even earlier and we will do everything we can to make this happen.
Keep in mind we will also trade quality for schedule as we are committed to making the best products we possibly can for mobile photography and filmmaking.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
