Molly's Milk Truck, LLC was born in 2011 for the purpose of sharing founder Hoda Mahmoodzadegan's coffee with the world. After quitting her high-paying but unfulfilling corporate job, Hoda developed the recipe for a creamy soy-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free iced coffee drink in her kitchen while she was unemployed and deciding what to do with her life. Hoda developed the concept for a healthy food truck, Molly's Milk Truck, which would feature the iced coffee and other affordable, nutritious items. With some creative thinking and nearly $100,000 of her own savings, Molly's Milk Truck went from a concept to reality. Hoda and partner Jason Avon celebrated their grand opening in May 2012 in Hoboken, NJ.
From the beginning, the purpose of Molly's Milk Truck was to be an outlet for selling and marketing our iced coffee. In just over year, Molly's has grown a large, loyal following in New Jersey and NYC. Made with almond milk and lightly sweetened with agave nectar, it is unlike any other coffee on the market. Frappuccino, but does so with less than half the calories & a spoonful of good
karma for keeping safe the local dairy cows. Vegans, lactose-free
friends, & other healthy-types unite! We share your health
interests; you'll never need to worry about artificial sweeteners or
hidden chemicals. They were never part of our process & will
therefore never be found in our product.
Brian Keaton joined the Molly's team in January of 2013 to put his food economics degree to use and get serious about bottling the coffee. Since then, tremendous progress has been made. Molly's had it's coffee recipe perfected by a prestigious flavor expert who is also responsible many of the Snapple flavors. A nationally recognized food processor has agreed to produce the coffee in its state-of-the-art facility. As you can see from our "About you" section, our graphic artist Trevor Rogers has nearly completed our label design. All we need now is to put the pieces together and make our first batch. This is where we need your help.
$40,000 will cover the absolute minimum costs for using the bottling facility and transporting the product. We estimate the total capital required to be approximately $100,000. Optimally, we would like to raise as much of this capital as possible through this campaign.

(The competition did not allow us to include beverages, so you'll get to see us showcase one of our other products. However, NOW is the time for our coffee to shine!)

Q: You guys have no background in the beverage business. How are you so confident in your coffee?
Aside from the advice of our seasoned flavor house and food processor, we also receive incredible guidance from our friend and mentor, Albie Manzo, partner at BLK Water. Like us, Albie and his partners developed BLK from scratch and turned it into a successful business. We all believe Molly's is on a similar path to success.
Q: How will you get your product on store shelves? Isn't that hard?
Yes, it is. However, networking is one of Molly's strongest assets. We already have friends and connections in a number of major food retailers as well as one of NY/NJ's largest food distributors. We plan to use these connections to saturate the local market before expanding nationwide.
Q: What if one or more of the beverage giants create a similar product?
Molly's coffee is currently the first of its kind - however, nothing is stopping others from creating a similar product. Luckily, Molly's is already a well-established brand. We have already received national recognition from Cooking Light Magazine and the package-design website, The Dieline. We are confident we can handle whatever is thrown our way.
Q: How will you ensure your plan is executed?
Molly's is not a side project for any us. All three of us have quit our jobs to focus on the beverage full-time. This beverage is more than just a drink - it is truly our blood, sweat, and tears. This brand will succeed because failure is not an option for us.
