About this project
Molecat Twist is a challenging puzzle game that takes place in the weird and beautiful world of the Molecats. Watch Kickstarter Video in HD on Vimeo http://vimeo.com/31781219
Molecats are hybrid of cat and mole. They live in a community called the Molecat Village. They are simpletons who like mushrooms and marching. Molecats usually go to the nearby caves to gather the delicious ‘shrooms, but mostly they get lost along the way.
Your goal here is to guide the Molecats through unique levels by taking control of the environment and changing the course they follow. Along the way the Molecats will face various traps, collect ‘shrooms, solve challenges and meet some very interesting characters. Do you have what it takes to guide the Molecats through an adventure like non other?
The final game will have an extended Story Mode, which will combine a classical and challenging puzzle-game stage-based experience with a fantastic story of the Molecat's first Adventure - with various characters, optional quests and a whole bunch of secret places to discover! In addition there will be a separate Challenge Mode for hardcore puzzle fans, which will offer additional levels which feature serious challenges and winning conditions for special achievements and medals, unique for each level!
We are a small independent studio called iWait4, we are an international studio that is collaborative in its nature. Stas Gailunas - the lead designer and artist of Molecat Twist is based in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. He is a professional game developer and has been working in the industry for about 7 years. Yaroslav Rybak - the ninja programmer and designer from Lviv, Ukraine. Samuel Justice - the sound designer and our "community manger" is based in Worthing, UK. And last, but certainly not least - Vasily Kashnikov aka Mushroomer. He is the music composer responsible for the absolutely amazing soundtracks of The Void and Cargo! games.
We are planning to complete the game in 6 months and release it as PC/Mac-Downloadable and on various tablet devices (iOS and Android). We are researching other platforms (such as PSN and XBLA) to release on, but it is too early to tell.
The funds that we will raise will go primarily to cover our living expenses during the development process and make it possible for us to concentrate solely and exclusively on Molecat Twist full time. As stated, it will take for about 6 months to complete our project to the fine quality we have achieved so far. The money also will go towards software licenses (Unity Pro etc). Any additional money will go towards marketing, additional music and extras we think will add to the overall experience.
Why $22,000? The answer to that you can find in the FAQ, at the bottom of the page.
We have prepared a whole bunch of special trophies for you! Along with some “physical” rewards that you can see below, there are also digital items. In addition to a Pre-Order and Digital Version of the Soundtrack you can receive some exclusive in-game content (Bonus Levels, In-Game Items, and Exclusive Molecat Leader Designs) and even have a chance to create your own designs for in-game Cave wall Art and unique non-player characters.
We will update with some previews of “digital” rewards a bit later.
Molecat Postcards - there will be a set of postcards (~10x15mm). You can either choose one or take a full set if you pledge enough. We are still not sure what artwork will be printed, so keep your eyes peeled - we will announce them a bit later.
Molecat Magnets - a set of lovely magnets for you fridge door. You can receive either a single one (with Molecat Twist logo) or a full set.
Molecat Magick Mug - a black heat-sensitive “chameleon” mug which will uncover a Molecat Twist artwork upon filling it up with hot water! We are still to decide which design will be used, so let us know which one you like most!
Molecat Figure - a limited edition PVC figure of a Molecat! which is Hand painted. The one from the preview is a “standard” type. There will be another 2 “unique” figures for 1k pledgers, both are one-of-a-kind. They will be unveiled later.
We plan to deliver all of the rewards asap, but the end of the year is near - we are hoping to get them out at the second half of January 2012. The “digital” ones, of course, will be given right after they are ready.
Thank you for taking to the time to read our Kickstarter! If you can't pledge, but still like our project - please, tell your friends about us! Either way - take this small gift as a token of appreciation!

You’re probably wondering why our total is $22,000 and what are we spending such a large amount of money on? We thought the easiest way to break this down would be to tell you directly. Out of the $22,000 the money will go on the following 5% Goes directly to Kickstarter as per their terms and conditions, 5% Goes directly to Amazon Payments as per their terms and conditions. $4,500 will be used to pay for our Unity Licenses (iOS and Android Pro). $2,000 will be used for the Kickstarter rewards.
This leaves us with $13,000 for the team to live off for six months whilst we develop the game full time.
