First of all, we hope everyone has been enjoying their time with the beta. We’ve been thrilled with the response it’s received, and all the great videos and feedback we’ve been getting.
Today we pushed out an update with a ton of new features and fixes, including a lot of issues and requests that have been raised via the Google Group we set up for everyone. You can see the blog post about the changes for a detailed list of fixes and new features. Some notable ones include tons of UI usability improvements, sprinting, a new water system, and a skippable intro cutscene.
We’ve also got a lot of useful telemetry that’s helping us identify issues, so even folks who aren’t writing up notes are still helping us simply by playing the game. Here’s a look at some of the data we’re getting:
We’ve also been filling in some more art for incomplete areas:
We’ve also got a lot on deck for upcoming updates. Our plan is to provide hotfixes, and release major updates monthly. One exciting new feature on the way is some new wildlife.
We’re also working on expanding the beta length. A lot of people have reached the end by now, so we’re building out the next biomes with new locations.
In the wake of E3, we were given a couple awards. Gaming Trend picked us as their Best Indie of E3.
We also got this fancy trophy from Curse
We’d normally link to a bunch of Let’s Plays and coverage here, but since you all can play the game, we figured that would be way more interesting than reading about playing it.
Thanks everyone for playing! We really appreciate it, and your help is proving to be extremely valuable for us in figuring out what we need to change, re-work, fix, and alter to make the game the best that it can be.
