A post-apocalyptic survival adventure set upon the remnants of a buried Earth.
by Mojo Bones
So, what do us backers need to do to get the free OST?
Ace! But shame it's not on the 360 platform too.
Regardless, I am looking forward to preordering the game. Thank you for keeping this Kickstarter in the loop, Mojo Bones. I appreciate it.
Even the original email stated that it was the soundtrack that would be free. The relevant section is here:
"Impact Winter has become more ambitious than we originally envisioned back in 2014, but we've been determined to stay true to the essence of what made the concept exciting to us (and hopefully you). Atmosphere is a crucial part of the experience and music is a big part of that. We're also pleased to announce we have Mitch Murder's finished OST in the game right now: running over 60mins of original music and sounding damn moody!
We can also announce that all you original Kickstarter backers will be getting a FREE digital copy, regardless of whether you buy the final game. Drop a comment below, just to let us know you're still hanging around these parts and not frozen in time ;)"
Note how the first paragraph starts talking about the soundtrack, and the second paragraph states that you would get a free copy (after just talking about the soundtrack), even if you bought the game or not.
Even then, the update was corrected within the correction window (30 minutes) to clarify that the free copy was for the OST.
Congratulations! The screen shots look really good… :)
And like Matt, I'm wondering if there will be a version for Mac and Linux like you orignally planned?
Looking forward to play the Game as soon as I can find the time to do so. Congratulations on finishing up the Game through the last couple of months.
I don't have either a PS4 or XBOne is there a chance you could explore bringing it to the Nintendo Switch and PSVita? I may get it on Steam someday but I rarely play on PC these days.
Is there a potential for a PS Vita version in the future?
Awesome! Can't wait! Just pre-ordered on Steam. I can't wait to bury- err, meet all my fellow survivors!
What a crap attitude from some backers, this was a FAILED campaign you paid nothing and you STILL expect a FREE copy?
You're having a giraffe if you think that is reasonable in any way!
I'm planning to pre-purchase a copy on pay day... is PS4 a pre-purchase option? If not, no worries i will buy the game on day one on EU release :)
Thanks very much, and glad you were able to make the game anyway. I'd like to ask along with @shockedder if there will be a DRM-free edition? I'll be happy to buy one if so. Good luck with the release!
Awesome work staying in and completing the game after the failed kickstarter.
Preordered, cant wait to try it out.
Firstly, many congratulations on all that's been accomplished - especially since the Kickstarter campaign wasn't successful! Secondly, I forgot to post a 'still here' response to the last update - am I still eligible for the free soundtrack and inclusion in the credits?
I have preordered the game now, and see that I get the soundtrack as well, for free!
Thank you guys!
A big bow for you guys! Despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, you have continue to develop 'Impact Winter' further, with this result!
I surely will buy the game on Steam.
BTW... how we backers will get the free soundtrack, you promised us in the previous update? Is it released on the same date as the official game?
No plans for Nintendo switch?
I for one prefer having my name in the credits over a free digital copy of the game. Looking forward to the XBox One release!
Awesome news, congrats!
Everyone seems to be forgetting that this was a failed campaign and therefore the team has not taken a single penny from you. Now that there's an actual game, made by finding a large investor it makes sense that people should pay for it. Namco aren't going to let people have the game for free just because they once said they'd buy it but didn't.
Think about it: just because you made some suggestions and registered interest doesn't mean you should get a free copy. Otherwise we'd all be writing to Apple, Microsoft and Tesla with our input...
For me the big question is if there will indeed be a Mac or Linux version as stated in the original campaign or if this has been left by the wayside for console ports.
Any chance on a non-DRM version ? GoG / HumbleBundle / ItchIo ?
Congrats on finishing the game.
Come to think of it, I don't think I have an extra $15.99 right now. Or next month. Or any month after that.
Pre-purchased!! So happy you guys finally made this! Congrats guys, can't wait to play it! :D
In our inbox news 29 we had :
"We can also announce that all you original Kickstarter backers will be getting a FREE digital copy, regardless of whether you buy the final game"
And when you check here it's now :
"We can also announce that all you original Kickstarter backers will be getting a FREE digital copy of the OST,"
Guyz seriously ?
You cannot offer to 1500 people ?
Pffff, without me seriously.
I was so happy about this gift comming from nowhere...
So I will not buy it sorry.
What about the keys for the backers? When can we expect them?
Well considering I was prepared to stump up the cash to support the game it would be almost rude not to do the same on a definite pre-order and release date. :-P Glad you stuck with the project... congratulations on the imminent release.
This looks great! I'm going to wait for a console release, as I don't play that much on my computer.
Many might say that thanking us for support on a failed Kickstarter is silly but.. I guess for all that stuck with you and cheered you on and begged to support another try it was a way of support, even if not monetary. I am SO glad to see this release and already bought it for Steam and will buy it for console IF it releases in some way physical. If you do go Limited Run Games, Indiebox, Signature Edition Games, or Soedesco please give us a heads up on here. I'll grab it for sure.
And thanks for the free soundtrack AND for being willing to add us to the credits. Thats kind of.. insanely gracious of you. :)
Thanks for the update! I'll be adding the game to my Steam wishlist immediately! :)
