Do you think you will ever have it working for Linux? If not, I would like to switch to Windows. I sent a message in July 2014 and September 2014 and my issue hasn't been resolved.

    2. Modkit 3-time creator on July 17, 2014

Hey Steve: Thanks for updating folks about the Linux version. Everyone who backed the Windows/OSX drives and/or the Makey Makey and sent us shipping info should have received theirs but unfortunately the Linux version did get put on the back burner and we're just now revisiting it. We were looking into why you didn't receive the Makey and it turns out you did not back at the Makey level (honest mistake - our campaign was 2 years ago) but we'll certainly switch you to the Windows/OSX drive as you've requested and get that out. Anyone else who wants to switch from Linux to Windows/OSX can certainly send us mail at support at modk dot it. Thanks again!

So for everyone still playing along at home, I have had a reply from an email I sent to the support@ email address. If you have NOT received a makey with a Windows or Mac version of the software yet, email them. If you're a linux backer, then AIUI that work is still in progress and underway.

Also I never got my little Modkit robo drive.
I'm pretty sure I didn't miss any survey. I think I was going for a Linux version too.
Any chance this will come and of me getting the USB-stick still?

    7. bugfree on January 28, 2014

Do you have any idea when the Linux dives will be sent out?

I tried logging into the site and it says I no longer have an alpha account, so I would really like the drive so we can use the product. If Linux drives aren't shipping anytime soon, you can switch mine to Windows..... we just need something.

Hi guys. I sent you an email a few weeks ago, but haven't seen a reply. I also did not receive my USB key, but I didn't get any shipping notification. Was there any tracking used on them, or were they just shippped off without tracking?

      thanks

      Hey Modkit,

I'm happy to switch to Windows or OS X at this point, since the Linux drives seem to be MIA. Please let me know how to switch my choice...

      Thanks!

Hi Hector - we sent out the Makeys way back in the fall. Perhaps you did not respond then but either way I think we have one or two left. I'll follow up with Noah to get that out to you. Hi Pallav - sorry for the delay in response. We have not had time to tighten up the Linux issues but are finally launching Modkit for VEX which has taken all of our time later and will be doing some work on Micro in the next weeks. Linux is the last thing we need to tighten up to wrap up this Kickstarter campaign. Thanks for your patience. -Ed

Hey guys, I responded on June 14, My primary systems are OSX and Windows, but I do use Linux as well. No prob, I'm patient. I sent you all an email to kickstarter@modk.it I had pledged $90 for the Modkit USB drive and a MaKey MaKey. Since I use OSX and Windows, you guys can go ahead and send the stuff out now and I guess I can update the drive later on, right?

Hi Hector, If you responded to the survey with your address verification I'm assuming you wrote Linux as your primary operating system as those are the last drives to send out. This is due to some changes in the AVR compiler in the latest version of Ubuntu that caused some issues. We're trying to find a fix now that the rest of the drives have been sent out. Thanks for your patience.

WHERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS TO USE THE USB THUMB DRIVE? i plug it in and nothing happens but zip files with no instructions inside them. no info on kickstarter, no info on modk.it

    30. Modkit 3-time creator on June 8, 2013

Hi Erri. We offered refunds months ago for those whose focus was on the physical drives rather than the many digital releases we sent via kickstarter. We then hired an intern who has been working exclusively on shipping drives as the core team focuses on continued development. Things are still moving slower than we had wished (in terms of physical drive fulfillment) but understand that all international labels have been printed but were awaiting a stamp to sign the customs forms. We had a team meeting Friday to see what was in the way of finalizing this and it looks feasible that we'll be able to post that wrap-up update this week. We want to wrap this up as much as you but also need to make sure the team builds capacity in the progress. If you want to request a refund you can do so by emailing refunds at modk dot it, but try to do so soon as we're pushing to finalize mailings to all confirmed addresses this week.

I am very ungry, 1 year for received my usb drive and dont received, this is unacceptable.
I send my address a lot of months ago.
you dont know that with this you break the good relations with future clients?
I'm curious if you are offering refunds too.
      Thanks

We are coming up on a year now! Will you be delivering the USB devices soon? I also can no longer down load the desktop pre-release version and my backups are corrupt. Can you please provide a link since it is starting to look like the USB Key has clearly missed any kind of timely delivery time. I am leaning toward asking for a refund as this has been extremely drawn out.

    39. Modkit 3-time creator on June 3, 2013

      Hi Tadpole,

Yes we offered refunds a while back if anyone was unhappy about waiting on the physical media. Noah (our intern) is handling shipping so I don't know at a glance if yours has been sent out (I understand international and some backers we flagged for a special reward are what's left). But why don't you send an email to refunds at modk dot it and we'll figure it out.

I'm fine to wait. If only we get some heads-up notification of what's going on in advance.
I don't mind a small starter-company underestimating the effort and blowing the deadline. :)

      UPDATE????

    47. Modkit 3-time creator on March 22, 2013

Hi Guys - Burning and sending out 800+ drives is no picnic and our new intern Noah has basically built our shipping department over the last two weeks. He wrote some scripts to automate updating addresses over email so if you haven't done so, please respond so we have you updated address.

RC6 should go out by email tomorrow so if you have a chance please test that (we're excited about MSP430 Launchpad support among other things). If you've updated your address your drive should go out early next week. We'll post an official update when RC6 goes out.

      Thanks for your patience!

At this point is anyone really surprised that even loading a flash drive takes weeks? "Pretty major issues" on RC5 actually says it all. Professional software should seldom have more than two release candidates. Six is unbelievable.
