Modiphius Entertainment are creating an awesome co-operative board game where you get to play as one of the Furious Five or Dragon Warrior Po. Explore the game's different challenges as you come up against Ox Grunts, Wolf Slashers & Spearmen, and the Wolf Boss as well as Tai Lung himself.
Click Here to use our webstore to pledge after the Kickstarter closes.
As a backer you'll be able to select either an English or French edition of the game, and well have a downloadable German and Dutch edition of the rulebook.
We've unlocked lots of great extras for both pledges - see below for the contents of both pledges
Each of the heroes has a character card with a number of health points (hearts) and a special power. In the case of Po if he rolls a Chi symbol, he can use it to heal wounds.
The game uses the Furious Action Dice which show various faces: a Kick, a Punch, two Moves, a Chi and a Claw. Players frantically roll four dice to get different combos to move around the board, attack enemies, and complete exciting objectives. The game features a unique mechanic, if you roll Claws on the dice, you move around the Dial of Destiny triggering enemies to spawn and attack!
We have a mode for young Masters where the timer is not used, to help them learn the game, you can also use this with your group to learn how to play before the clock starts ticking!
The special move cards add more depth and fun to your games, and more challenge to your campaigns. The cards let you summon and use your Chi roles in new ways; breaking walls on your own; throwing enemies great distances; or even reviving players previously out of reach.
Barry Doublet added an interview with Chris talking about the game from Paris Est Ludique
We had a great review from Kung Fu legend and Youtube reviewer, Rahdo Runs Through It at UK Games Expo!
Here's one of our playtest playthroughs (not final components) to give you an idea of a four player game
We've created the Furious Five and the various enemies as PVC plastic figures.

Risks and challenges
We have been developing the project for 3 years and the game rules and component design have been through many versions but are now complete except for some final approvals on components, the rules and counter sheet layout. The core game is locked and will not change regardless of stretch goals. The rules themselves are ready to go in to layout in late June. In order to reduce any risks of delays we've taken a number of steps as follows:
1) We have started the tooling process to speed up the 'pre-production' part of the development for the base game and the Masters pledge. This is the expensive production of the metal moulds to cast the plastic miniatures and is usually where you can get delays. We're committed to making Kung Fu Panda the Boardgame so getting this part of the process underway saves us a lot of time later on.
2) We are keeping the Stretch Goals simple and manageable, either with content that is already designed (but would cost to add to the game) or that is easy to develop (though still adds cost to production).
3) There are no add ons to make the project fulfilment complex and this also helps reduce shipping costs as we'll only be packaging one of two different boxes.
Of course games are made by people though, and we've experienced our fair share of life intervening in well laid plans. If this happens we'll let you know and what our plan is to resolve any issues.
Factory production can encounter delays - as mentioned above the tooling can sometimes require changes based on the quality of samples (which is why we're starting now), errors in print files or formats and other issues can add up. With our experience we try hard to avoid these problems but it can still happen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
