We started as the first commercial effort to bring Android to the PC. We're still at it, now on GitHub rebuilding - combining the best of the open-source world, with cutting-edge commercial drivers, licensed from Intel. (Console.com.co)

Dennis on February 18, 2016
@ssiu - yup so it sounds like you are in the same boat as me. and according the creator, you did receive console os kitkat, it just doesn't work on your device.
ssiu on February 18, 2016
If I remember correctly, Console OS KitKat does not support any "UEFI32" devices including my ASUS T100 Baytrail tablet.
Dennis on February 18, 2016
@ach - lucky you were able to save your Vaio :)
@fellow backers - so i received console os that doesn't work on my device. have any of you received and successfully installed it on yours, since apparently console os kitkat was shipped with support for most target devices (just not mine?) just curious to know from backers which ones were successful. thanks.
Manish Parikh on February 18, 2016
"Understand that Intel has not even begun to ship Android-powered Atom x5 or x7 ("Cherry Trail") devices in the USA yet."
Umm yes they have... The Acer Predator 8 runs a Intel Atom x7 and is available on Amazon right now.
ACH on February 18, 2016
Yeah Dennis, it wasn't functional on my "launch" device either (Vaio Tap 11 i5) and if it weren't for the tablet's "rescue" feature it would have been effectively bricked. Unsurprisingly the support forums were completely unhelpful.
If I knew then what I knew now I wouldn't have even bothered installing it (well, I wouldn't have backed, but that's a foregone conclusion at this point).
Dennis on February 18, 2016
"@Dennis - You have received Console OS (KitKat), it just doesn't run on that specific device."
uh... what? so i received console os but it doesn't work on my device? sorry for my ignorance, but what am i supposed to do with an os that doesn't work on my device?
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Harry - Support for Surface 3 is much more likely in the Marshmallow cycle.
Understand that Intel has not even begun to ship Android-powered Atom x5 or x7 ("Cherry Trail") devices in the USA yet.
Asking us to leap ahead of Intel in terms of SoC/CPU support is very difficult, if not impossible much of the time.
Unfortunately, as the marketplace has shown, it takes time to support new Android SoC's that are outside of Google's Nexus family. More time than we all would like.
We encourage and support Google switching to an open-design model (similar to Chrome OS) that would reduce this turnaround time.

As one of the 58 backers who pledged $100 or more, I would like to know what I get? So far I have received a big pile of nothing. I do not believe I am mentioned anywhere in the Console OS credit screen. Console will not work on my Venue 8 Pro (see conversation below). My V8P is dying anyway as the microUSB port needs soldering and it is totally not worth the time and money to do that.) My new tablet is a Surface 3 with LTE so I would like to know if you have any updates on running Console on Surface 3 with LTE?
BRian Lee on February 18, 2016
And so.. when can i finally use it on my Asus Vivotab Note 8?
I'd waited ever since i bought the device until now it just lay there gathering dust..
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
We expect to support nearly all originally-targeted devices with Console OS Lollipop. We are not going to consume resources re-clarifying the development of Console OS - we encourage backers to read our past updates.
We are updating our web sites, wiki, and forums right now to prepare for that release, and we're excited about gearing up for Marshmallow after that - where we can continue to deliver on our original vision, despite the tragic setback and loss of Android-IA for PC.

@mmv - And what @Sean saying is absolutely correct, it is even given in the console wiki typed by you.
Arul Jayanth Muthukumar on February 18, 2016
@mmv - Dennis said that his device is Dell Venus 8 pro, and you said that Console OS(KitKat) supports that device(for proof check the campaign page), don't you even remember what was written by you?
MMV=$78K Payday! Backers got NOTHING! on February 18, 2016
@Dennis - Quit rewriting history :) You are supported!
"Out of the gates, we will support (over!) 25 iconic Laptops, PCs, x86 tablets and convertible devices with Console OS. And, here they are:
Acer: Aspire S7
ASUS: Transformer Book T100, T300
CircuitCo: Minnowboard MAX
Dell: XPS 11, XPS 12, XPS 13, and XPS 15, Venue 8 Pro, Venue 11 Pro..."
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Dennis - You have received Console OS (KitKat), it just doesn't run on that specific device. We are doing everything we can to support that device, and we expect to between Lollipop and Marshmallow.
Dennis on February 18, 2016
whoa whoa calm down. all i said was 'i didn't receive anything yet' and then i'm told i was incorrect. so i stated my device and asked if i was wrong in my statement. your reply kind of implied (to me) that i'm not. i apologize if i sounded sarcastic. just not sure what else could have been 'incorrect' about my statement. thanks.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Dennis - You have the latest status on that one device. Most UEFI32 devices are working, but there is a firmware issue in the Dell Venue 8 Pro that we are having difficulty working around. It has been fixed in Intel's UFO driver, but we cannot use that driver yet for the reasons stated in the bulletin.
We clarified our status, being open and transparent about where we stand. No need for sarcastic "oh well" comments.
Dennis on February 18, 2016
hmmm ok then i wonder what was 'incorrect' about my previous statement... oh well...
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Please let us know when Intel was responsible for any CONSOLE OS promises.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Wrong answer. Intel has nothing to do with Console OS running on any Intel products. Console OS is solely to blame.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Dennis - The DV8P is one of about three or four UEFI32 devices that we are still working on getting to work.
The issue is owned by Intel and they are still working with us on fixing. You can read details here: http://wiki.console.com.co/w/Intel_Graphics_Source_Bulletin
Once Intel fixes that issue, we expect Dell Venue 8 Pro to work again.
Dennis on February 18, 2016
my device is a dell venue 8 pro and the wiki states 'Console OS does not run on this device currently' so am i wrong in stating that i haven't received anything yet? or am i missing something? thanks.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
As many have previously stated. Hopefully your coding egineers are not the same people responding to my meager requests. If my questions are that taxing, please let me know through this forum so I can figure out where to send my grievances. Or praises for that matter. Waiting for your response.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Again, I am communicating via phone. Maybe MMV cannot type fast. Don't blame "them" for the speed of their typed response.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
I am just one person. You clearly have a corporation behind you.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Dennis - We cannot communicate with someone that posts nearly 30 comments in around 60 minutes.
Dennis on February 18, 2016
Ian r's comments don't bother me. I say let him speak his mind. when I do a search for console os, some of the results bring me here so I think leaving all comments up serves as a reference for everyone seeking to know more about this project. I believe he does have a valid question as to what he already voted for. it has been over a year so maybe he forgot (I sure have) so if he's going to have the rest of his votes fulfilled, it would be nice to know. just my two cents.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Flagging comment goes both ways, especially if you misquote KS terms at the time of project start.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
We apologize to other backers, we cannot engage with the community with people spamming our wall. We are still working with Kickstarter on better solutions.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Please refer to my personal survey concerning the 5 out of 10 votes you promised me for my pledge. I hope that helps you get the information you need from my team. Rest assured my team will be here to answer any and all of your creator questions to assist you with Console OS alpha version 000000000.000000000000.000000.0000.1 dr1.0002
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Darn the auto correct on my phone..... *commits, not comics. Sorry ....darn samsung phone.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Please have a good night mmv. Rest well so you can work hard tomorrow making reports about staging and framing and also making non-comics to the github.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
May I also remind you that the comment wall is not your personal soapbox. It's a comment wall for backers. Please keep your updates to the update wall. Your non-updates are really troublesome to us backers. Please refrain from using this space to tell us that nothing is happening.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
You have literally answered none of my questions and deflected all my requests for valid response to you total and complete avoidance of my personal message to you.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
MMV please calm down. I am communicating through a phone. Not a desktop.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 18, 2016
@Ian R - We are not going to communicate further with you. You have defied our every request, first for the simple information we requested, and then repeatedly hammering us with 4-5 comment blasts, derailing dialogue on our comment wall.
We have reported this to Kickstarter. Please dialogue with them. We can't dialogue with you under these conditions, sorry.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
What comments have violated KS terms?
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Sorry, did you just say that my comments were abusive?
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Sorry. Typo. Cracker Jack "team"
Ian R on February 18, 2016
I should mention that only 5 votes out of the 10 votes that I paid for have been verified by your cracker hack team.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Please explain your last comment concerning lack staff to fulfill rewards.
Ian R on February 18, 2016
Please access my survey. Surely you have access to it.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 17, 2016
@Ian - We're sorry that you don't want to engage with us. You won't share us what devices you even chose to vote - so that we can answer your question, and have since bumped down posts with four different replies. If you continue to make multiple comments just to bump down prior conversation - it will be considered abusive.
Again, we're happy to engage constructively, but what you are saying is neither constructive, nor helpful.
Ian R on February 17, 2016
Tell you what MMV, why don't you tell me what I did vote for and then give me you status updates.
Ian R on February 17, 2016
Again, please explain how fulfillment is not your responsibility. Anyone who did not get their votes is entitled to a refund.
Ian R on February 17, 2016
You should have done multiple surveys....excuses, excuses, excuses. Not even a follow up. Surely one of your cracker jack team could have fielded my question. I'm sure I was not the only one who missed out on 5 votes.
Ian R on February 17, 2016
Not my problem.
Mobile Media Ventures, Inc. Creator on February 17, 2016
@Ian - We said to most backers that wrote in that we were multiplying over votes unless they submitted them via a Kickstarter message. While we read each message sent in, unfortunately we receive thousands of messages and simply do not have the resources to respond to each of them.
We are excited that all the top devices that were voted are being supported, but we'll go one step farther. Tell us the devices you want supported, right here and now, and we'll get technical status on each of them.
Ian R on February 17, 2016
