Raffles! More rewards for our Backers!

We are offering two additional ways for our Backers to get more from Citadel of Sorcery!  We are starting up two different Raffles, and anyone who has pledged, or pledges, $5 dollars or more will get a chance to be in BOTH raffles!   For more information, go to the Main Page on the Citadel of Sorcery Kickstarter page and click on the 'Raffle' graphic.   That will take you to page that explains both kinds of Raffles we are giving our Backers.

      I figured it out, if every backer upgrades to the 10k tier we can hit the goal. So start checking your pant pockets.

      Thank you so much for the thorough response! I can see that CoS has all the makings of what could truly be considered the next generation of the MMORPG. Your team understands that it's not solely about the graphics, because gameplay comes first.

      You've made a believer out of me, and I can see a strong future for CoS once other gamers see it too.

      No, we don't think we will make our KS goal at this stage, though stranger things have happened on KS. What we can tell you is that it doesn't matter. First, as we mentioned, all those that pledge will have an opportunity to get rewards even if we don't make our KS goal. Second, the game was always going to be finished regardless of Kickstarter. This was purely to speed it up, but that's all. We will pursue other avenues of funding, and no matter what, we will finish this game! We have too many millions of dollars already invested not to complete it now. You will be playing Citadel of Sorcery, just be patient, and come join our Patron team on our web site, starting November 9th. We'll release more information then!

      GameTaco: We have said all along that a lot of the technology and tools were already working, and that the online servers have been running the game world online, for the past six years. It is still pre-alpha, so not a finished game, or even at alpha, but we can show what we have told people we have. We never lie to our players. It's the technology that we can't really show to the public (which is the majority of what we have done). Graphics are a mix of good, bad and placeholder (as it should be pre-alpha). Some things are functional, some things are in progress, some things are just design ideas (again, just as it should be in pre-alpha).

      As for offering rewards, that is addressed in the first paragraph right under the Raffle graphic, but yes, you will still have the opportunity to receive rewards (just go to our web site on November 9th for details), even if we don't make the KS goal.

      We won't rule out another KS in the future, but this was a special time when a small amount of money would have done us a lot of good. Soon we will be dealing with much larger investors, and once they are on board we may not need or want to use KS.

      Regardless of what some uninformed skeptics out there think, the technology behind CoS is impressive, and we have already had a lot of interest in the game because of it. This engine is ground breaking, trust me, and investors and publishers will be impressed when we do a demo of what we can offer that NO other game can accomplish. This isn't a design, this is functional, now. We're still polishing it up for the dog and pony shows to come, but that's all.

      In game footage or finished graphics and some kinds of game play are still a ways off, but we don't need those to show this to publishers or investors, they aren't like most players who cannot see beyond the primer paint (read the Parable on our forums for what I mean).

      I think this giveaway is a pretty nice gesture to the 200+ of us that have been following the Kickstarter. You must be somewhat far along in the development if you have content to show this month for the pre-alpha, if I'm reading correctly. Hopefully this means that you'll have plenty of material to show to the press and investor groups once it ripens and loses the NDA.

      With that said, do you intend to still offer the rewards that are listed in the current tiers after the Kickstarter, or are some items, such as the mystery stone, just ideas that would only be possible with a successful backing? Once you have more in-game footage that you can publicly display to the media, is there a chance of a second Kickstarter with a lower minimum and several stretch goals?

      There are more questions to ask, but those are the things that have been weighing most heavily on me today. I'm glad that you are being good sports about the slow backing and throwing this raffle for us. Keep up the good work, and keep the video updates coming!
