Martin, cheers and glad to hear from your - good ideas all!

I've given it one last plug on Twitter/Facebook. Maybe IndieGoGo is an option as you get some funding at least. Alternatively, Channel Four occasionally do games related commissions, and if you do KS again, I'd be happy to suggest pledge types/costs based on research of previous campaigns. For example, a few £1000+ pledges would definitely come in if Ian, Steve and Peter were willing to host a special Games Night for pledgers! Asking a lot of them, but I'd be tempted.

And I'd be willing to donate a PDF version of my latest CYOA project for pledgers to beta test for free. Others would probably do the same. I think you're jus a victim of timing, rather than this is a poorly conceived project.

Oh, well. Maybe you can sleep in a tent and eat baked beans? It's a terrible shame, because it's a show I'd really like to see. It's a tale that must be told. You'll find a way to 400 (Hint: go back a page ;) ).

If you start your own site I'll chip in the same contribution, maybe up my pledge by a tin of frankfurt stew.

Just backed this and only just found it! I usually search KS with tags for RPG and roleplay for things like this, and it's only because I went into table top games and did a manual root through that I found it at all. I'd say the wider audience possibly does the same and simply wouldn't come across the project :( I hope you succeed in this late hour, bur if you don't, tagging this up tighter will really help you - I don't think it's a lack of interest in the film so much as it's not easily found to pledge against.

Creator Balgin Stondraeg on November 27, 2012

I realise this is a bit late now and I truly wish I'd discovered this project earlier. But I'd like to share a small story with you all. Back in the late 1980's when I was a young lad of nine or ten I was reluctantly dragged off on a school trip to Lulworth Cove. It was a dull and rainy day and other than the beautiful view (wich we didn't really appreciate with our sniffs and colds) the event would not have been eventful were it not for the fact that we stopped by a little newsagent's stand before leaving. I was cold, tired, hungry, and I desparately wanted something to read to alleviate the boredom.

On the little rotating rack of books was a paperback called Fighting Fantasy book 3, Forest of Doom. The image on the cover struck a cord with me and the standard Fighting Fantasy blurb on the back immediately made me think of all the classic stories, fairytales and folk tales of my youth and the chance to lvie them vicariously through the imagination of the book's authors but with my own creativity being thrown into the mix was too good to pass up on. It was only 20 pence and as luck would have it I had the exact change on me and not a penny more. I bought that book and began reading it in the knackered old school minibus as it rattled along those Hampshire roads back to school.

Over the intervening decades I have become an avid gamer and fan of the fantastical but I'll always have a fond soft spot for the many gamebooks I've come across over the years be they Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf, Way of the Tiger, Golden Dragon, Tunnels & Trolls or any other number of series's I may have neglected to mention. But there'll always be a soft spot for Forest of Doom, my first adventure into the world of Fighting Fantasy.

I'm sure this sort of thing will appeal to a wide cross section of Geeks (Not Nerds - Nerds are a different species of Homo Sap :-) ). The biggest catch of all, I suggest, will be 8-Bit/16-Bit computer and Vintage Computer community and electronics, 1980s-90s Dungeons & Dragons and Role Play Gamers, Today's "LARP" gamers (Live Action Role Playing), War-gaming/Medieval reinactors and so forth.

Others perhaps: fantasy artists of the genre: gamebooks and imitator books, Fantasy magazines (Dragon, White Dwarf. (Remember the short-lived 'Proteus' Magazine?)...and their fans:

As a backer in the US, I was wondering what region code the DVDs will be. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code) I don't have a multiregion/international DVD player, so I hope they will be no/all region, or a North American region 1 verison will also be available. (I know digital players like VLC don't care either way, but it's easier for me to watch films on my TV via my DVD player than my computer.)

Several months ago I supported another project, "Timescapes", which for only $300 included a nice bonus of being listed in the end credits of the movie, and an entry on imdb.com as Associate Producer. I found this quite exciting partly because it didn't require an investment of several thousand dollars, and what movie buff wouldn't be excited about listed in the credits and having their own IMDB record :-) Of course this attracted a lot of people and the credits became long, but I donated more money than I would have for the DVD alone. Have you considered this reward before?

Maybe a few more will come over because I expect both 'Elite' and Fighting Fantasy books will appeal to a large group of people from a certain age group, who are enjoying reminiscing about their youth!

I really hope you guys hit the target. FF books had a huge influence on my development as a child and the adult I have become. They helped inspire my love of reading, writing, art, the genres of fantasy and scienty-fiction, and general geekdom.

My friend and I would find a quiet place at lunchtime and take turns reading the latest volume to each other and rolling dice. Reading alone, I never had enough fingers for bookmarks to turn back! I know that was cheating, but I wanted to read ALL the plotlines!

My absolute favourite was Deathtrap Dungeon. It pretty much sealed my fate as a later D&D player.

So all the best to your project, and say thanks to Ian and Steve for me!
