The Haunted Video Game (2nd Run) (Canceled)
A side-scrolling 2D Action/Adventure horror game that plays out like the horror B-movies from the past.
Inside the secret bio laboratory where all hell breaks loose. You and a team of biological waste disposal are on a mission to stop what ever broke out... and not let anything or anyone leave.
Stranded in the middle of nowhere USA, you must escape a wave of attacks from a crazed family of psychopaths... but not before saving your friends.
Taking the role of a legendary monster hunter, you battle your way through a demonic castle filled with the supernatural and the unknown.
Here are several mid-level bosses and main bosses for each of the different stages. As you travel through each level, you will encounter these villains and their only purpose is to destroy you.
Concepts, sketches and early visuals.
Here is a sample of the rewards that will be given to the supporters. Please note that it's only a sample. The t-shirt and poster will have 3 other choices and will be updated before shipping. All others might be changed or stay the same.
- Each hard copy of the game (CD/DVD, DRM Free) with have your name on the start screen as a backer. Digital copies will not.
- Every backer will be named on the credits at the end of the game, once the game start screen, there will be an option to view the game credits under "Options".
- The manual will be a DRM free PDF file, MHTML or other computer based help format.
- The posters will be shipped, tubed, along with everything else.
- The t-shirt and poster will have 3 different image prints, they will be ready for the backers (for you to choose from) later on. Once I have all the orders, I will have them printed out and ready to ship.
- Stickers will come in a pack of 6 and will have different styles and themes.
- Dolls are 3D representations. I will try to recreate them the same as possible. With the help of my mom, we will make these dolls by hand and sewing machine.
Seems like the best way to start off on. It takes money to develop games and I have very little to none. Every cent I made has gone to this project and funds are basically none. With a little help with the gaming community, we could see this great project come to fruition.
Where is the money going?
Most of the money is going into production of the game, which is the main focus here. As I viewed many other KickStarter video game projects I notice all of them have rewards & perks. This is a bit odd for me because I just want to make a video game. So I figured, what is it that I would like as “extras” along with a game I purchase.
So I listed things I would like, such as posters, artwork, strategy guides, stickers, t-shirt, and other cool stuff. The bigger rewards go towards the making of the rewards themselves. I expect great quality on products I buy, the same goes with the things I sell.
When will the game be released?
I have the game planned out to be released no later than the 4th quarter of 2015. I will be releasing a demo for the early 2015, 3 completed full, playable levels for those who have pledge for the “Early Beta Release”, then the Ouya/PC demo in October 2015.
No DRM for PC based games (Windows/OSX/Linux).
Downloads on GoolgePlay and any other online distributors are processed through their service.
There is no online in this game, this is a one player game… just like the old school games. As for updates, I'm trying to have as little to no updates at all. Just like the old game distributors of the past. Once the game is released, that will be the final product. If by chance their is a critical, crashing or fatal error in the game programming, only then an update or patch will be released. To make this possible, testing the game will be extensive before release.
There is no multi-player; a 2 player game is planned for the sequel.
Plans for the future…
The plan is to have this game released, with all the profits, I will start working on the second game planned. It might be an action RPG, the sequel to this game or a platformer I always had in mind. The fruit of this labor will help in development of future projects.
Risks and challenges
The only challenge I see that might arise is not releasing the game on time. I have set all my time, energy & little money I have to finish this project on time. With the funding I hope to get help creating this game the way I envision it. Searching for creative artist and programmers to help me out will be difficult but achievable.
Luckily I know several music composers and have friends and family to help out getting this project released.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
