About

Forthright Ministries International was launched in 2009 with the goal of helping other ministries succeed through marketing assistance and leadership training. Over the years, our ministry has grown and we have been able to work with ministries throughout the United States, South Africa, India, Costa Rica, and more.

In just the last three years, we have helped raise over $30,000 for ministries around the world!

In 2018, we were part of mission trip to India where we worked among the Sora people, a tribal group in the eastern mountains of India. The specific group that we were with was only introduced to the modern world within the past 25 years.

While we were among these awesome people, I tried my best to research their culture and found that there was very little information about their people, and the information that I did find only showed the dark side of these people. Many of the documentaries focused on "savage" traditions, but gave a very dishonest look at the culture of this amazing tribal group.

Upon returning from India, I knew that something had to be done. In 2019, we launched Alpha Generation, a ministry that is dedicated to documenting the testimonies of Christian tribal people around the world.

We were dedicated to looking international, until we were asked to consider the tribal groups inside the United States. We began looking for people around the country and were introduced to an awesome Ojibwe pastor in norther Minnesota.

This trip was a huge success and opened the door for us to travel to many other tribal groups around the world.

We are ready to hit the ground running. We have most of our camera equipment already, but we are in desperate need of a new vehicle and two professional video cameras.

Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a Hybrid Toyota Rav 4 and the 2 cameras that we need to create these awesome documentaries and tell these amazing stories.

Each trip will be focused on a specific tribal group and will feature full-length documentaries on the people, their culture, and their faith. The videos will also contain featurettes that will highlight various things specific to each people group.

Our ultimate goal is to be at 1 trip a month. We already have invitations to many places around North America, but we need this new car and the new cameras to make that happen.

Hey, if some guys get get sponsored a vehicle to film lightning, why cant we do it to document the stories of tribal people around the world?

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Doug Shaw

Director of Forthright Ministries International

Risks and challenges

Our biggest issue is our size and those we can reach out to. We pastor a church of low-income people. Many of which are migrants and do not have large incomes. This makes it somewhat difficult for fundraising, but allows God to bless us through people like you.
