Help a group of innocent creatures avoid all deadly hazards and get back home safely.

Players will be able to explore all these bright and fun worlds, solve challenging puzzles and give instructions to these small creatures to build, dig and perform many activities that will allow them to survive dangerous elements such as guillotines and saws.


Our vision

We want to bring younger generations the same kind of fun that was found on Lemmings but with a fresh and modern look, while at the same time allowing older generations to relive those challenging puzzles but with handcrafted and unique levels & a more sarcastic tone. We are introducing unique features such as Isometric/3D cameras, coin collecting, portals, movable objects and active buttons to enable or disable traps, among other things. We are putting all our vision and passion into this, so we hope our players will enjoy it as much as we do 😅

After they had to leave their home, a group of innocent creatures had no other choice but to land in an unknown planet.

Dumb Little Creatures is a fun and challenging puzzle, in which you have to give guide a group of innocent creatures to each level's finish line by avoiding hazardous situations.

  • Fun skills: Dig, Build, Float, Turn, Block are some of the skills you will need to use to complete the challenges
  • Hazards and Fatalities: You can be amazed of how many different ways are there to die. Exploding, Burnt, Drown, Sliced, Chopped are only some of them.
  • Changing Views: This is a 3D game, in which there are many things happening at once. You'll have to learn to think in 3D. Rotate, Zoom and pan cameras accordingly.
  • Challenging Puzzles: Bring everything together, add a time constraint and that's it. Deal with different rates, camera positions, deadly hazards, limited skills and you're done.

We wanted the game to look modern and fresh, so we decided to go for Low Poly with bright colors so it looked like an innocent cartoon. It is a 3D game, although we give strong preference to isometric cameras that help complete the puzzles. We also took a lot of care designing the character itself, since we wanted to make it look cute, fun and innocent, but with hilarious fatalities and expressions.

The game will be getting more difficult as you progress, and there will be different environments and scenery, as well as a specially chosen music soundtrack. There are different places for each level, starting from mountains, islands, desert, ice, caves, volcanoes, etc. There will also be some really fun bonus levels, with special FX, but we’ll let you find out about these in the game itself.

We are planning the launch for this game initially to PC and Mac. But it is in our plan to port it right after that to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Our team initially formed around software development. Though we’ve all worked on other projects in the past, Dumb Little Creatures is a shared vision of the things we love in games. Together we’re putting all of our passion into this project. So we discuss not only technical things but fun things we should get into the project. Things like…“Remember those Guillotines that were on the original release of Prince of Persia? Yes, let’s do that!”

Juan Pablo González Hermosillo

Juan Pablo has been in software development for around 20 years and has been running an IT consulting and services company for almost 10 years now. He had always dreamed of creating a studio and build videogames. It was because of this that this amazing team was built and Dumb Little Creatures was brought to life. Juan Pablo is doing the game design and working as the lead developer for the game.

Pepe Peñaloza

Pepe is a really talented , illustrator, designer and digital animator that has worked son some other games before. He is bringing all his experience and talend into doing all 3d modelling and animation for the project.

Jorge Sauri

Besides being a great guy, Jorge has been designing and building games for years. Being an avid gamer he got a lot of influence from of old school games. Now, he’s sharing his vision with the team and helping in both the creative process and production.

Alex Sánchez

Alex has always loved Arcades, so since he was a kid he loved to draw new characters, enemies and worlds full of action and fantasy. He brought that passion to the team. He’s in charge of art direction.

Cha Arzcuaga & Lucas O’Shire

Cha Azcuaga and Lucas are co-owners of a small animation studio, they were the last to join the team, but getting them working on Mismatch Studio was a great decision. They are doing all 2D illustrations and animations inside Dumb Little Creatures, and making these little creatures have a life of themselves.

She has been very supportive though all the process. Always happy and really enthusiastic about the project.

Lemmings and other classic strategy puzzle games are huge within the gaming community, and we knew it would be easiest for us to get the word out about Dumb Little Creatures through crowdfunding. Kickstarter offered the best situation for us to host the project and share it with our network of gamers worldwide, while simultaneously gaining new fans and players.

Without our first backers and entire Kickstarter community, we wouldn't be able to finish creating Dumb Little Creatures in the sadistic, yet comical, way we've been planning. We sincerely appreciate your support.

Risks and challenges

The more we work on this project, the more challenges we have faced in order to make a great game. There has been a lot of learning in the process and we have had fun, so we don't mind taking them on! Time is always an issue, coming from software development world, keeping a project plan in track is always the challenge. But in this case, we have had to be flexible on that on the sake of building a great game that is challenging and really fun to play. We've already put a massive amount of work into Dumb Little Creatures and we know that with all of you at our sides we can create a brilliant, exciting game for everyone to enjoy.

Bringing Dumb Little Creatures to live hasn't been a small task, however we believe that its foundation has largely been built. The mechanics and logic are implemented now, and the whole progress system and development of each level. Our focus from this stage will be the population and dressing of each world. Each level is yet to be refined and played over and over again before they really come to life.

But even now, we feel the base is strong and from that base we aim not to radically expand Dumb Little Creatures’s scope, but to add some features that are still on our backlog, detail every level we designed and make sure it works great.

Ultimately we want to deliver a fun and challenging game in an amazing unique world. We can’t wait for you to experience it and we’d be hugely grateful for your support.
