I love leading worship, and over the years people have asked me many times if I have an album. For the past few years, that answer has been no, but by next July, 2013, I'm hoping to have a finished product of worship music, along with songs I've written, and who knows, maybe even a couple of Marty Goetz songs will be covered on the album as well.
I hope you will join me in this endeavor. I look forward to seeing the end product and experiencing the journey along the way! I will be doing frequent updates about the making of this album and keeping you all "in the loop" with every step. Blessings! Misha.
Besides the Lord, my family, and my friends, music and worship were two things I grew up loving more than anything in the world, so the desire to eventually make some kind of recording has always been there.
As I got to thinking about the past few years and how I have been writing more and becoming more involved at my school (Azusa Pacific University) when it comes to music on worship teams and in our chapels, I felt like now was the time. I will be graduating from APU this coming May, 2013, and the amount of talent, love, and passion, for the Lord that surrounds me right now at my school is unparalleled to any environment I've experienced thus far (even in comparison to where I've grown up, in Nashville, TN).
Growing up as the "daughter of Marty Goetz," people would see me singing on stage with him and often ask, "So when are you coming out with your first project?" I always responded honestly saying, "I have NO CLUE." I knew I would come out with something, but I just wasn't sure about the when or the how. I found out about Kickstarter through my dad's producer, Rick Elias (he has a page on here, so check him out!), and when I thought about how many people have been asking me for an album for so long, I thought this would be the perfect way to get them involved!!
I want to make an album of worship music that speaks to people's hearts and brings them from the outer courts into the inner courts of the Most High G-d. Because that's what it's all about, isn't it?? Truly knowing G-d in that secret place and then making him known to the rest of the world that is so dark and dying--and there's something about music that works in that process, stirring the soul, igniting a flame, and evoking change by breathing on the deepest parts of our being that can't seem to be touched by words alone. I want to make an album of songs I have written that do just that.
