What is Misery Loves Company you ask, it's the complex story of two friends, one who is evil and one who is good. It makes you wonder what is good, and what is bad, because everyone is just one bad day before they turn for the worst. If there were three words to sum up the show they would be dark, complex and sad, don't be worried though there is a great deal of funny moments buried within the show.
If you want a taster of what the show will be like click this link to view the first draft of episode one's script. Tell us what you think by writing a comment on this Kickstarter page! Remember this is the first draft and if the project is successful the animation's script will be written by a professional!
The character Charlie/Charles takes motivation from on screen fitness DVD's, no we're kidding he actually takes inspiration from Rick Sanchez from Earth Dimension C-137, Tom from eddsworld and Sans from Undertale. In the story Charles is the company, who is being dragged down by the wretchedness which is Benedict. Conceived in Dundee, Scotland he then moved to New York City when he was 23 because he was in debt from his alcoholism (which started after his friend Kevin died).
Charles lost his eyes in a freak chemistry accident, but is able to see thanks to a nano-camera created by Benedict.
He studied chemistry at Abertay University for three years and got his degree when he was 20, one year later he attempted to get a quantum physics degree at Cambridge university but was unsuccessful because of his alcoholism.

Any money extra which does not fit into a stretch goal will be used on marketing.
Our goal of £150,000 is only to able to make 2 episodes, and not a full season. We hope to raise more than the initial goal so that people can see what Misery Loves Company really is.
Our grand plan is for Misery Loves Company to be on television screens worldwide, we would love to see our show on Netflix or Adult Swim as they are the places we took inspiration from for our show. Our initial plan is to release the pilot on YouTube and see if we will be noticed by any networks or streaming sites, if none notice us we will begin to pitch our show to different places. You can help us get on TV by signing the petition here. This will let networks know that people would watch our show. If this happened we would give any remaining money from the Kickstarter to the network/streaming site to help them produce the series.
Misery Loves Company is an idiom meaning people who are unhappy may get some consolation from knowing that others are unhappy too. The reason we used this as our name is because the underlying theme of the show is that the two main characters, despite being friends, bring out the worst in each other. Charlie is trying to be good but keeps finding himself being dragged into Benedicts schemes, and Benedict is trying to be happy but when Charlie is around him he gets jealous of how happy and easygoing his life is, and is trying to make him miserable like him.
