Previously, our knives were all made with AICHI AUS 8 steel. We have now upgraded the knives to be manufactured with AICHI AUS 10 steel. AUS 10 has a higher carbon content than AUS 8 which will help extend the time between sharpening sessions, the overall sharpness of the blade & the durability of the knife.Last updated:
For the base of our nonstick pan we used a 5.5 millimeter thick, commercial-grade aluminum construction. This thick base ensures a flat, even cooking surface for the life of your pan, and helps provide amazing heat distribution for better cooked foods. On the bottom of our pan, we bonded a stainless steel plate to ensure it's compatible with any heat source. The nonstick surface is Dupont's premier 3-Layer Platinum coating, modified to work even better with our Plasma Primer. This PFOA-Free coating is Dupont's most scratch and abrasion resistant nonstick finish, and is even designed to withstand normal metal utensils and abrasive scouring pads (though you shouldn’t use metal utensils)!Last updated:
Our stainless steel cookware is made of 3.0mm, 5-ply composite with alternating layers of stainless steel and aluminum.Last updated:
Are Misen products dishwasher safe?
In terms of our knives, Do NOT use a dishwasher! The powerful water jets can knock objects around, damaging the knife's edge. Further, the intense heat can cause serious harm to the knife handle.
Our nonstick pans also should not be placed in the dishwasher as it can quickly deteriorate the nonstick surface.
The stainless skillets are rather easy to clean by hand but are also dishwasher safe.Last updated:
Yes! There will be add-ons available in the post campaign survey we send out through CrowdOx. You’ll have the opportunity to add on a variety of Misen items to your order at special Kickstarter pricing.Last updated:
Stuff happens, and when it does we're here to help. In the unlikely event that there is an issue with your order, send us a note at email@example.com and we'll take care of you!Last updated:
While we have no problem replacing or fixing Misen Cookware products, we unfortunately do not offer refunds or returns on items received as Kickstarter rewards.
Support from our Kickstarter backers allows us to run production, gain feedback and design new products. Kickstarter products are referred to as “rewards” because they are not purchases in the traditional sense. They are rewards for supporting our business in a similar way that public television funds their service through pledges from viewers.
However, if there are any problems with your product, we encourage you to tell us about it by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org so that our team may take care of the issue.Last updated:
All orders will be shipping from our warehouse in the US. We are in the process of setting up fulfillment from within the EU but unfortunately it will not be ready to go by the time we fulfill these Kickstarter orders.
Please note that we are required to accurately state the value of items in your order so that any necessary taxes or duties can be calculated. These fees are not included in the shipping fee for each country. Each customer is responsible for any additional fees due upon delivery.Last updated:
Once we decided that we were going to upgrade our knives to AUS 10 steel, we then looked at each knife to make sure the upgrade made sense. For all of our knives with a straight edge (chef, paring, santoku & utility), it was a no-brainer to upgrade the steel because each knife would be able to hold an edge much longer, be easier to sharpen and more durable. However for our serrated knife, we didn't think it made as much sense to upgrade the steel. The serrated blade is one in which you rarely actually sharpen the blade and it's used much less often than the other knives so the upgraded steel is not nearly as large as a benefit as the other knives. By doing this, we are also able to ensure we are always offering you the best overall value,Last updated:
