What is the project?

Camp Crash web series with each of the eleven episodes running 6-8 minutes long.  The project will allow for the binge-watching audience to enjoy an episodic story, without an over-indulged time commitment.  They can also view one at a time for a chuckle.

Synopsis:

Hagar hijacks a group of kids and brings them to Camp Crash where they learn the art of warfare and must battle to be the next camp director!

  • The Set-up:

The economy had a tummy ache resulting in many 30 year olds moving into their parents' basements.  After the acid reflux simmered down, many kids did not want to leave that basement.  What were the parents to do? SEND THEIR KIDS TO SUMMER CAMP!

What is Camp Crash like?

Camp Crash is an episodic venture into dystopian summer camp.  Think Mad Max meets Meatballs.  Post-apocalyptic family fun!

How did Camp Crash come about?

In Denver with city development being omnipresent, Crosier’s art studio at Wazee Union was closed, sold, and demolished.  He moved to an old stockyard filled with kitchen equipment wonderment.  This echoed the trappings of cuisine-inclined doomsday preppers.  What is more dystopian than that?  There, a location was realized.

When thinking of a post-apocalyptic setting, Mad Max, is at the forefront of that genre.  Having come off the mockumentary, Isolation Man, Crosier had a craving for comedy and reflected on Meatballs as an influence.  The dystopian summer camp classic, Camp Crash, concept was born.  Now to make it tangible!

Crosier did an early read of the script, which at the time was a feature.  It was suggested by Quddus Ajimine to break the ambitious project down into an episodic format, so as to tackle each episode individually, instead of overextending resources by tackling a feature film project all at once.  Breaking the project down into smaller, more manageable parts. Daniel saw this as an opportunity to draw on influences like, Cory McAbee’s, Stingray Sam serial.

This would become a "found object" project, where everyone involved was encouraged to bring out items from their garages to use as props or set pieces.  The cast made their own costumes, and created their own characters.  Oh yes, the absurdness was on!  Like a "Burning Man" gathering, all these different mashed up styles came together in a formidable fusion that Crosier and producing partners Elise Sargent, Pete Roskop, Quddus Ajimine, and Gerhard Ka’aihue oversaw.

Shortly, a creative family came together and shot the first episode to Camp Crash in two and a half days. This would introduce the world to the microcosm of a, dystopian summer camp, and serve as a proof of concept for the series.

Now we stand to expand on this universe.
