Books and art are two of my passions, so I am very excited to put together this book of my drawings.
In 2007, I made a series of 365 drawings- one for every day of the year.
My drawings are meditations in action, brightly colored, mandala-like patterns. The patterns begin as exercises to subdivide space within the image. I start with penciled grid lines and grow out with repetitive pen-and-ink line work which is done freehand.
I began the Works and Days series in January with primarily red drawings and gradated around the color wheel. Orange in March, yellow in May, etc.
This made for some great exhibits of the original drawings. In the years since this project was completed, I have displayed these 365 small drawings in many different arrangements. I “drew” new patterns on gallery walls with the small frames.
I'd love the chance to exhibit this large project in book form, for the project to be documented and seen in its entirety again and again by a viewer. The book will be a high-quality hardback with full color images of all 365 drawings. I want to make the sort of book I would want on my book shelf.
Thanks for helping.
