Ok i see what that issue was - I picked from under "100 pack" thinking it was the 100 coin pledge level. I've fixed that.

BUT the shipping line is still an issue. If i add one it still tries to bill me, so I've left it off. Is that correct? It seems to suggest I must pick one shipping choice.

    4. Minion Games 28-time creator on

      That sounds correct Dustin.

    5. Dustin Schwartz on

@Minion - I added the "I backed Hegemonic +50" option to my cart, although I actually got 100 coins from the Hegemonic KS (2nd set of 50 for $5 limited deal thing). I also backed the coins KS to the tune of 200 coins. Therefore, I have added 300 coins to my BackerKit cart. Is that fine? Just don't want to make unnecessary snags for you guys.

    6. Dustin Schwartz on

@Lisa - thanks, I logged back in today to give it another go, and everything worked fine even without resizing the screen.

    7. Minion Games 28-time creator on

Michael, Sorry it was 100 - bad math. We will open them when we have to, but it's a pain and we'd rather not have to.

    8. Michael Remenak on

      @minion games

I'm confused are you giving me more coins for free? My pledge was for 50 coins ($12 level). The total coins I should receive is 100 (50 from Hegemonic + 50 from Futuristic Metal Coins).

How are you planning to support backers of Hegemonic that did not back Futuristic Metal Coins? Won't you have to open bags to fill these orders?

    9. Minion Games 28-time creator on

@Michael we'd like to avoid all 5 quantities as we have to open bags then. So please just add 150 total coins to your cart in any assortment you like and add the "I BACKED HEGEMONIC +50" item to your cart to let us know where the extra 50 are from.

    10. Minion Games 28-time creator on

@Steve, you paid for 100 coins but you are putting this in your cart:
      100 pack - 100 CAPs x 1
      100 pack - 20 CAPs x 1
      100 pack - 5 CAPs x 3
      100 pack - 1 CAPs x 5
That's 500 coins. So it's going to ask for extra payment as you have selected 1000 coins. You need to put 10 pack coins into your cart, not 100 pack

    11. Michael Remenak on

When pledging, I considered that I would be getting 35 x 1s and 15 x 5s with the game plus any additional coins that I ordered. If I want the original amounts that come with Hegmonic how should I do this?

Do I add quantities of 5 or add nothing and just assign coin amounts for my pledge level?

To be specific, I pledged 50 coins and want totals of:

      55x1
      25x5
      10x10
      10x25

This totals 100 coins. The 1s and 5s have increments of 5 because I thought that is what is coming in the Hegmonic box.

Do I order the quantity above or:

      20x1
      10x5
      10x10
      10x25

      This totals of 50 coins.

      Please help.

I am also somewhat confused and annoyed by this. I have already paid/authorized for $24(100 coins) + $15 shipping for n america.

Backerkit seems to suggest i select a shipping option, but if i do it wants cc info. So I just left shipping options off as that is the only option to not add cc info to backerkit. I've already authed that in the kickstarter pledge.

I wanted to add more coins but i don't want my info in yet another payment gateway out there.

Ah, I see my mistake. I thought I was to add the line item of $45 (20 x 10 packs) worth of coins. That was my error. All I needed to do was to select the shipping and quantity of denominations with NO line item referring to my rewards package.

I thought it acceptable to post here hoping to save some others the same headache of unraveling this puzzle. Admittedly, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but if I was having difficulty, chances are that at least a few others would have the same questions as well. If you feel that I should have kept my issues private, then I apologize. I meant no harm.

I received no backerkit email. As I have no account created for the coins project on backerkit, I can't fill out the order as it stands. Backing at the 63 dollar level and am a Hegemonic backer. (Note also that you mention in a post below that you might not be able to fit all the coins in the hegemonic box which I understand, but there was no instruction concerning increasing pledges for shipping of large amounts of coins when you were a hegemonic backer. Does this mean you guys are covering extra shipping in this case?)

I don't think Paypal handles any sort of charge you later transactions which is what happens here.

    21. James Greene on

So Backerkit isn't set up to handle paypal? No offense but I tend to be cautious about where I go dropping my CC details.

Please ask specific questions in email or message. Not here.
Elliott, did you hit ADD TO CART after selecting each of those items? Soon as you add the shipping your cart should say $0 remaining. You should only see it say you have $5 over pledge to spend to begin with. You need to also add all those $0 items to the cart and save them

      todd elliott on

      Hello,

I pledged at the $50 level ($45 dollars for 200 coins plus $5 s/h.) I've added the following to my cart on backerkit.com

      $45.00
      SHIPPING: Coins - USA: < 500 Coins
      1
      $5.00
      10 pack - 1 CAPs
      6
      $0.00
      10 pack - 5 CAPs
      4
      $0.00
      10 pack - 10 CAPs
      3
      $0.00
      10 pack - 25 CAPs
      2
      $0.00
      10 pack - 50 CAPs
      2
      $0.00
      10 pack - 100 CAPs
      2
      $0.00
      10 pack - 500 CAPs
      1
      $0.00
      Subtotal
      $50.00
      Extra Pledge Credit
      - $5.00
      Total Owed
      $45.00

It says at the top that I have a $5 pledge over my reward level and asks me for my credit card when I check out. There is nothing that costs $5 for me to add as an extra and I don't want to spend more than what I've already committed. Why does it take $5 off. If I enter my CC, will I be double charged? What should I do?

      Thanks,
      Todd

All this hate for BackerKit is perplexing. Granted I've only used the service twice now but the experience has been anything but a problem. This confirmation took me all of 15 minutes, give or take, and that's only because I indulged my anal retentive side by quadruple-checking everything. ;^)

I wouldn't think twice about using it in the future and it certainly wouldn't prevent me from backing a given project.

Here's some details from the email to find it in spam:
      from: webmaster@miniongames.com
subject: Help us get Futuristic Metal Coins or Victory Tokens delivered on time. Confirm your info!
text from body includes things like backerit and:
You too can stay current with personalized updates about your rewards by registering with us on http://futurecoins.backerkit.com/
text from body also includes your kickstarter survey stuff, so for instance your name that you filled out in survey.

    28. Stephen Corby on

Hello, I have also not received a Backerkit invite email though I filled tout the Kickstarter survey on March 8th. Any help would be appreciated.

    29. David Liu on

The current trend for complex projects is to pay somebody to build a pledge manager to make sure the owner can get 1000's of pledges straight. I had experience on an older project that uses Email to coordinate Add-on Extras and it was a big pain in the ass for both of us. BackerKit looks like a low cost alternative that will save the day for publishers with a smaller budget.

BackerKit isn't that hard to use, and I think that it is a good idea to pass the burden off, so Minion Games can focus on delivering the coins. But I agree the layout & wording could use some refining, there is a noticeable learning curve for 1st time users...

    30. Minion Games 28-time creator on

Steve, I would have had to use Survey Monkey if not BackerKit and then it would have been mostly manual work on our end to get things right and many mistakes would be made in shipping and cost us money and you delays... There is no easy answer here. Kickstarter does NOT supply a way to get these answers.

    31. Minion Games 28-time creator on

Chris please contact support@backerkit.com and tell them what browser you're using and they will help you today yet.

Here's some feedback to Minion: don't use BackerKit in the future. BIG mistake, BIG hassle. Honestly, if I would have known they were in the equation I wouldn't have backed this project.

I'm glad that three other projects I've backer considered BackerKit and then rejected it on the basis of not wanting to use their backers as guinea pigs. BackerKit doesn't seems to be particularly well-designed (although I'm sure that its creator interface is far better than Kickstarter's), and this project is pushing the envelope in several ways.
      .
Among the many, many ways to get confused (with BackerKit in general):
      1) The first time you go to BackerKit, you need to use one of the links in the middle of the email sent to you. "select add-ons for additional pledge credit?" is a good one, but any in that central block of seven links is identical. This link will prompt you to create a password.
      2) If you need to go back to BackerKit, use http://futurecoins.backerkit.com/ for this project, and sign in with your email and the password you established in (1).
      3) Do not go to www.backerkit.com, since that is the project creator interface.

    38. Minion Games 28-time creator on

Kevin, yeah you attempted to sign up as a Kickstarter campaign creator. You need to go to the link in the email sent by backerkit. If you didn't get that email yet and you had filled out the KS survey, then direct message me or email me and I'll resend it at copy it to you in a message. Please don't was space under comments asking for links to be resent.

    39. Kevin Brown on

So I was so excited earlier that I didn't even really read the email. I jumped on the BackerKit link in the first email, entered my email and put in the URL for this project... and was notified that someone would be in touch with me soon to get my project on BackerKit.
Oops. Maybe I'm just a little too geeked to pick out my coins and stuff!
      Patience, Grasshopper.

    40. Minion Games 28-time creator on

@Matt, no you're not. I got side tracked with adding the rest with the 100 emails sent to me. I'll go add them.

      Matt S on

@Minion I think I am missing something here, where are the larger coin count options for above 360? I had originally wanted to add in 800 but do not see it as an option to add.

    42. Minion Games 28-time creator on

@Peder and everyone - PLEASE look at each cart item under their text, they have a PULL DOWN menu to select a variant of that item. So the first variant is chosen by default and is confusing people, just change the option in the pull down to be what you want, THEN you click ADD TO CART to put it in your cart. So if you are getting 50 coins, you want to choose 5 different versions of the 10 pack item and add it to your cart 5 times.

    43. Minion Games 28-time creator on

I just added a $0 item for you to add to your cart if you also backed the original Hegemonic KS. This will help us identify and verify the extra +50 coins you were promised. Please add this item to your cart if you backed the original Hegemonic Kickstarter

When should we expect an email from this "OTHER" site? I responded to the survey 03/08/13.

I'm not too keen on this service already and haven't even started. I can only hope this all works out in the end and I get my coins.
I will NOT be backing any other projects that use this service in the future. Bummer.

    47. Peder Bergenwall on

I'm sorry if I'm being daft, but here goes, I'm a Hegemonic backer, pledged for 50 extra coins here...so I get the 50 from the H campaign and 50 from this? And, as the survey is quite confusing: I picked "50 pack 1 CAPS, 30 packs 5 CAPS, 10 packs 5 CAPS, 10 pack 10 CAPS", with 1 Qty for each. That should be 50 ones, 40 fives and 10 tens, correct?

    48. Dustin Schwartz on
