Small Town Monsters: MOMO, Terror in the Skies and Bigfoot
Raising funding for On the Trail of Bigfoot, Terror in the Skies and MOMO. Three new documentaries from Small Town Monsters.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Sun, March 10 2019 4:00 AM UTC +00:00.
We've added stretch rewards! When you back, you now will receive a downloadable director's commentary track for On the Trail of Bigfoot! We've also added our next stretch goal and the reward will be an official MOMO: The Missouri Monster "crew member" logo on the back of the MOMO t-shirt. If you back at any level containing the MOMO tee you'll automatically get an upgrade to the crew member shirt.
Small Town Monsters is a completely independent production house that specializes in making projects focused on Cryptids, legends and lore, and the paranormal. In 2019 "STM" will be completing production of On the Trail of... Bigfoot, Terror in the Skies, and MOMO: The Missouri Monster.
On the Trail of... Bigfoot is a 6 episode mini-series shot, edited, written, narrated, co-produced and directed by Small Town Monsters' creator, Seth Breedlove. Shot across the United States during 2018, the series tracks the history of the Bigfoot phenomenon and the search to find the elusive creature.
Terror in the Skies is the 8th STM feature documentary (following 2018's The Flatwoods Monster, and The Bray Road Beast) and is directed by Seth Breedlove with narration by Lyle Blackburn and features Ken Gerhard, Troy Taylor, Loren Coleman and more. This film takes an in-depth look at the winged cryptid phenomenon taking place in Illinois over the course of centuries. Beginning in Alton with the Piasa Bird legend and ending in Chicago where a Mothman-like being has been sighted, this is a comprehensive look at an often-ignored subject.
Finally, MOMO: The Missouri Monster. Merging the world of 70's "Sasquatchploitation" cinema with our 9th documentary, this will mark a true departure for us, while exploring an exciting new storytelling style. Momo the Monster was seen all around the town of Louisiana, MO during the 1970s but little is known about this local legend... until now. Co-written and narrated by Lyle Blackburn and directed by Seth Breedlove, MOMO: The Missouri Monster marks the beginning of a bold, new direction for STM. Be a part of history!
You'll be able to get a gaggle of amazing rewards when you back this campaign. From your name in the credits of the films, to apparel, posters and more, our goal is to make this the most loaded campaign we've run thus far!
Your pledged funds will be going toward A: getting all of our final costs taken care of for distribution of On the Trail of... Bigfoot. B: paying our post-production folks and wrapping the edit of Terror in the Skies. C: covering all expenses related to production of MOMO: The Missouri Monster. From principle photography to FX people, to post-production costs... whew, that's a lot of money!
Risks and challenges
From a backer standpoint, there are few risks to backing an STM Kickstarter. This is our fifth, and not only have we maintained a 100 percent rating on putting out the projects we're funding through our campaigns, we've never missed a release date by even one day. In fact, most of our projects get sent to backers before that date even arrives.
From our perspective, this is the biggest challenge we've faced thus far. Between On the Trail of Bigfoot, Terror in the Skies and MOMO: The Missouri Monster, we'll have created a minimum of six hours of content by years end. That's a lot of time filming, editing, and post-producing/marketing. However, On the Trail of Bigfoot is wrapped. At the time of this writing, it's already in the can and simply waiting for backers names to be added to the credits before going out the door. Terror in the Skies wrapped principle photography in October and is already well into the editing phase. That leaves MOMO as our sole project this year to put into full-scale production.
We're already ahead of the curve and we fully believe we'll meet all the risks and challenges that might lie ahead of us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
