About this project
The publishing industry is in a state of flux. Editors at publishing houses have little time to edit, and even less time to mentor and develop new authors. For a book to be published, it must be close to perfect.
Most publishing houses don't accept submissions directly from writers. Writers need to be represented by agents.
Agents are looking for manuscripts—that are close to perfect!
I've been getting GREAT feedback from agents on my story, Shining Sea, Book I of Sirenstories:
"I think you've got a fabulous concept!"
"You certainly can write; you've done a wonderful job . . . "
"I love this!"
"I'd be more than happy to take another look if you revise."
"If you choose to revise, I'd love to see this again!"
I believe that if I hire an editor to help me shape and polish my pages, I'll find the agent that's right for me and my story.
I'm a musician, and I wouldn't make a record without a band, an engineer, and a producer. Books are long songs. I've written the music and lyrics, but I need a couple of pros to help me make a recording. That's where you come in!
This beautiful image was created by artist Kamil Vojnar. I'm thrilled that he's allowing me to use it here.
When I saw the picture I was simultaneously enamored and shocked, it is a nearly perfect representation of one of my characters from Sirenstories!

Si•ren |ˈsīrən|noun| ORIGIN Middle English (denoting a type of snake): from Old French sirene, from Latin Sirena, from Greek Seirēn.
The enormous white wings of the Siren can appear from the backs of their seemingly human bodies in a heartbeat allowing them to take to the sky. Their ability to breathe underwater permits them to be equally at home in the sea where they’re able to travel at the speed of sound. The seductive Song of the Siren casts a spell so strong no man or woman and certainly no teenager can ever resist it.
And there's one other especially important trait that Sirens all share, but you'll have to wait to find out what it is. All I can tell you now is that it's super spooky. Some say it's a bit sexy. Homer's Odysseus heard the songs of the Sirens but he didn't hear their stories. Sirenstories.
Sirenstories is the name of the young adult trilogy I'm working on. I've completed two of the three novels. Shining Sea is the first book, the second book is called The Deepening.
http://Sirenstories.com is the name of my blog where I try to support other singer songwriters. Singers + Songs = Sirenstories.
Yes! The one I have in mind STARTS at $5,000.00! And that's just for one book.
The editor I'm hoping to hire is well known in the publishing industry and has an excellent reputation, so I'm very sure she's worth it :)
