A seemingly sleepy retirement village
….but wait, zombies?
Welcome to a suburban retirement village where all is not as it seems…
After settling down to recover from the responsibilities of working life, the residents of Sunny Pines have been idling away the days, life could not be more tranquil.
However, a creepy new resident, Mr Grim Reaper, looks set to turn retirement on its head… After years trawling the earth for souls to harvest, Mr Grim Reaper concludes Sunny Pines is where he’ll lay his hat; here he can harvest souls from the comfort of his rocking chair. However, seven of the sprightliest senior citizens have other ideas and set out to prove that life for Grim at Sunny Pines definitely won't be like shooting fish in a barrel.
The stately seven decide to strike a deal with the Grim Reaper; a racing championship to the death. If they can prove themselves to be fast and full of life, surviving and ultimately winning the championship, then he will allow them to live. However, too slow and they will be condemned to the retirement village in the sky.
What the Reaper doesn’t tell the folk of Sunny Pines is that once he takes your soul he can bring you back as one of his army of the living dead; mobility scooter racing zombies that are hell bent on making sure that nobody wins, by any means possible.

The Grim Reaper's Tombstone Attack
Players must battle it out against The Grim Reaper and the other competitors over 7 tracks and 21 challenges, where only the most skilled racer will survive. In each stage you will face 3 challenges; A Death Chase, A Battle Race and a final miscellaneous challenge set by the Reaper himself, each will test the most skillful of racers. Your rank against other competitors will ensure you progress to the next stage; however finish bottom of the pile and the Reaper gets to take your soul.
You can use the currency you earn to buy upgrades from the local DIY store, enabling you to pimp up your mobility scooter. Here you can upgrade your motor, wheels, suspension and even your weapons; turning your vehicle into a battle ready speed machine, ready to aid you in your quest to stay alive.

Sunny Pines is a vibrant, vast and varied land, as colourful and bright as it is big. The calming tranquility of suburbia acts as the perfect backdrop to the racing havoc that commences when death makes an appearance. Each area has its own distinctive look, feel and unique obstacles for racers to contend with.
The following gives an indication of how we see the controls for the game working on both a gamepad and keyboard.

The following will give you guys an indication of how your very generous pledges will be spent if we reach our £65,000 goal.
We have spent a considerable amount of money so far developing this idea and do not currently have the funds to complete the game.
If you like this idea and would like to see it made then you can help us in two ways.
First of all Pledge anything you can, whether its £5 or £4000, every little bit helps us and we have some amazing rewards to give away.
Secondly please tell the rest of the world about this idea in anyway you can. We can see this working in so many ways in the future, not just as a game but also as an animated TV series, along similar lines to that of Family Guy and the Simpsons. We can also see it as a range of Vinyl Toys and we want our fans to be part of this journey.
We would like anyone who backs this project to make suggestions to ensure this isn't just another racing game. We want to make it the gaming experience that everyone wants to see and play, whether you play games for an average of 10 mins a day or 20 hours. We want people to smile, laugh and more importantly come back and play it time and time again. The game has a lot of underlying dark humour that we want our backers to help us develop into an amazing gaming experience, so please get involved and get this idea kick started.
Risks and challenges
There are always plenty of risks and challenges when making games, something we have learnt by doing over the 8 years we have been in business. Yes we have failed at times, but it is the process of learning from failure that keeps the studio striving for success and ensuring we make the next project even better.
The first and biggest challenge is to see whether anyone actually likes the game idea and wants to buy it. Hopefully people will vote with their pledges on Kickstarter, but we are also going to be putting the game on Steam’s Greenlight to allow the PC, Mac and Linux gaming community to vote too. We have had significant interest in the game from big publishers already, but we want as much feedback as possible from the gaming community to make sure that if this game gets made, it is as good as it can be.
If the game is successfully funded on Kickstarter, our next biggest challenge is coding the game. We have created the majority of all the game assets now and need these assets coded to carry out very specific game functions and features. The majority of the money raised on Kickstarter will be going towards hiring coders to ensure the game features are delivered. The coding itself will not be a challenge, however, the sheer quantity will make it expensive and time consuming. So we need to ensure we bring in the right coders and manage this through correctly to ensure we deliver a well polished game on time and on budget.
The last major challenge we have is marketing our game when its ready to launch. I think all game studios, big or small, find this a challenge as it is something traditionally undertaken by publishers; this was one of the biggest reasons we decided to publish our project on Kickstarter. If we are successful, I’m hopeful that you the Kickstarter audience will help us create some noise about the game and shout about it. The money we have asked for only allows us to complete the game. If the game doesn't sell then we don’t have the money to fund our next project or create new iterations of Coffin Dodgers further down the line. So we need your help to make sure the world gets to know about our project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
