When I was 22, I moved to New York to pursue stand-up comedy. I was so broke and broken that I thought the only place I could afford to live was the spare bedroom of an older married couple's apartment I found on Craigslist.
I lived there for a year and a half.
50th & 4th is a thank you note and an apology letter to New York City and the people who care about you here. In the play, Rick and Sue, an older married couple in Brooklyn, rent out the spare bedroom in their apartment.
This was originally a movie script that has been sitting on my computer for years. With the help of an incredible director, a talented cast of actors and NYC's constantly inspiring, Do-It-Yourself entrepreneurial attitude, I decided to rewrite it and submit 50th & 4th to the 2018 Frigid Festival as a play.
We'll be putting it up for 5 nights between February 14th and March 3rd at the Under St. Marks Theater in the East Village. Exact dates TBA.
I love where the script is at. I love the cast and crew, who'll be working all winter to take my script and turn it into a performance you'll hopefully love. They deserve to be paid for their work and passion. Please help me make that happen!
Your money will go towards paying the cast and crew, printing scripts / posters and the entry fee for the festival.
Risks and challenges
I don't want the cast and crew to work for free. I told them they'll get paid no matter what. If the Kickstarter is not successful, I'll make credit card payments to each of them for many years to come.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
