The Few and Cursed funded in under 3 days, which isn't too shabby considering it is our biggest and most ambitious game yet. The Few and Cursed is now stretched to perfection and went on to unlock all 18 stretch goals (with a few hours to spare). These stretch goals include wooden artifact tokens, new bounties, a cooperative mode, The Fallen Immortals mini expansion and a 5th and 6th playable character: Alistair and Ze Amado. These extra characters mean that with the Deluxe box you can play with up to 6 players!
Please take a look at the Whats in the Box? and Stretch Goals sections below for more details on all the amazing content in store for Kickstarter backers.
The Few and Cursed: The Board Game is a competitive or cooperative action adventure game designed by Mike Gnade, where 1 to 6 Curse Chasers must explore the desert of the Pacific Ocean and fight their way through gangs, capture the biggest bounties, defeat monsters, complete jobs, and discover supernatural artifacts on their path to fame or infamy.
Based on The Few and Cursed comic book series by Felipe Cagno and Fabiano Neves, the board game expands on the lore of the comics and brings its characters and creatures to life with amazing miniatures!
Check out their Kickstarter to fund issue #6, the last part in The Crows of Mana'Olana story arc, and grab the entire mini-series.
And if you are looking to get a taste for the lore and tales of The Few and Cursed be sure to check out the complete first issue in digital format when you back the game and check out this Update for Backers Only clicking right here.
A Rich World Full of Lore from the Comic Books
The Few and Cursed can best be described as a Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets the Old West comic book series about people trying to survive a world where most of the water evaporated overnight in a mysterious apocalyptic event back in 1840.
Even though what was left of mankind found a way to adapt using water, the most valuable asset on the planet, as currency, survival turned the world into a wicked wasteland where it's either kill or be killed. And evil not only endured, it won.
People turned to dark arts, old tales of mischief and curses to survive. Death is everywhere. But for every darkness there is light - and among the few and cursed are those willing to fight to bring balance to the land: the Curse Chasers.
Asymmetric Characters and Starting Decks
Each player chooses a Curse Chaser with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Characters have different starting decks, varying weapon proficiency, abilities, stats, and unique curse transformations.
The Few and Cursed is a deck builder without a market. You don't ever spend resources to acquire cards. Instead we've developed a streamlined way to build your deck; Every turn players Improvise and draw cards from the Upgrade Deck and then choose one to immediately add to their hand.
As you journey throughout the desert of the Pacific Ocean, you will draw Encounter cards based on your location and be faced with choices that will immediately impact your turn. The order of these events is randomized every time you play and crafts a story revolving around the lore of the comic books.
Pushing your luck with Curse
Every Curse Chaser is affected by the supernatural. Draw on the darkness too much and you will transform and become cursed... every cursed state has its own pros and cons but they all lead towards death.

"What I found was a quite engaging game, with some smart uses of popular mechanics, which neatly blends Western and supernatural themes. Plus, it was darn fun to play, so well worth checking out when it hits Kickstarter..." - The Campaigner Magazine

Every backer is important to us, regardless of location, but the reality is that shipping is very expensive and is a cost we all need to share. We always work at minimizing the cost of shipping as much as possible and will be providing a small shipping discount to ALL backers regardless of region. As with our previous campaigns, we will be working with shipping partners within the EU, US, Canada, Australia and Asia to provide region-friendly shipping in each of these zones. If you live in these regions, you will not have to worry about paying additional taxes or duties.
Here are our estimated shipping costs based on a standard game package (3-5 kg volumetric weight). Keep in mind these are just estimates based on our 2019 shipping rates, and costs may change based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose:
*WE DO NOT SHIP TO:* Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
We will charge and finalize your actual shipping after the campaign ends through our pledge manager. By doing so, we can ensure you get charged the shipping you actually deserve. We don't want to stick anyone with a large shipping bill long after the campaign is over but feel this is the fairest way to handle it while remaining fiscally responsible.
What about BREXIT?
The shipping above is based on the information and prices we have right now. No one can predict how shipping costs will be affected if/when Brexit comes to fruition. If shipping charges drastically change after October 31st, we will let you know as soon as we hear from our shipping partners about final pricing. If they do go up radically, we will also be happy to offer refunds to any UK backers who can no longer justify the price.

Risks and challenges
We are fortunate to have gone through the Kickstarter several times before and have consistently delivered our games to our backers before our estimated delivery date. We attribute a lot of this speed to getting all of the core artwork completed upfront and have done the same with this project. We pride ourselves on communicating with our backers and impressing them by meeting deadlines and delivering an excellent product. Please feel free to check out our other Kickstarter projects for samples of our transparency, comments, and process.
