August was a crazy month! I'm still recovering from PAX West and GenCon right before it. We had a great time at Gencon 2017 meeting everyone, demoing games and talking about our upcoming game "Set a Watch". The reception we've received from the gaming community has been overwhelming and incredibly encouraging. We just finished PAX West 2017 this weekend where we were featured in the Indie Megabooth Tabletop showcase. Maximum Apocalypse was received very well at both events. Folks at PAX West kept asking if they could buy it after demoing the preproduction sample...not quite yet I had to tell them.
The game is officially under production and everything is out of my hands at this point and our timetable is now at the mercy of the manufacturer, freighter, customs, and fulfillment centers. I confirmed with the factory last night that the game is scheduled to finish production in Mid-October. Here's a look at our estimated timetable:
September 23rd 2017: BostonFIG Tabletop Showcase
October 15th 2017: Mass Production Completed
End of Oct or Early Nov: Brass Empire Expansion Kickstarter!
November 2017: Freight Shipping to Fulfillment Centers (estimated)
November 17th-19th 2017: Pax Unplugged #1 in Philly!
December 2017 - January 2018: Fulfillment!
First Quarter 2018 - Everyone has their games / Retail Release
I expect that everyone will be getting their games by early 2018. Obviously I will continue to update everyone on manufacturing and shipping progress as we move forward. I'm promise that there will be full playthrough videos for Maximum Apocalypse before you get your games as well.
GenCon Recap and Game Updates
GenCon was an absolute blast and we were insanely busy. Sam Bailey (Forbidden Stars, Talisman) and I threw a prototype together the night before and are now working on a Lawyer game that will likely be coming to Kickstarter in late 2018. We had over 10 sold-out Maximum Apocalypse events and were also playtesting our cooperative fantasy game "Set a Watch" in the First Exposure Playtest Hall. That's all I've got for now. Cheers!
