$100K! Approaching the final 48 hours.... Final Stretch Goals Revealed!

Posted by Mike Gnade (Creator)

I prepared this post for just around the 48 hour mark regardless of if we hit $100k or not and sure enough, we blew past it anyways. That means an entirely new apocalypse will be added! I think there’s been some funny business with the online poll, so I’ll be adding a vote to our pledge manager survey before I officially announce the community apocalypse. So that's something to look forward to post campaign … I’m so excited for these final 2 days. I expect we’ll see a glut of new backers that will hopefully push us over the edge to fully stretch this game out. I am happy to present the final set of stretch goals:

New Tile: The Airport

Hitting $105k will add another new tile to the game. If you can clear out all the monsters, the airport is a fantastic source of transportation. Get to the Chopper!

Upgraded Tokens

Unlocking this stretch goal will upgrade all of the remaining tokens in the game to 2mm thick cardboard.

New Tile: Prison

Hitting this stretch goal unlocks the final tile for the game bringing the total tiles to 38. You don’t want to get locked up here. The prison will automatically end your turn when revealed and costs an additional action to enter.

Upgraded Cards

This stretch goal will upgrade all of the cards to the very best card stock. We will also put a linen finish on them making them all the more durable.

New Survivor: Army Ranger

Unlocking this stretch goal will add the Army Ranger and his deck of 30 cards as yet another survivor class bringing the grand total to 8. This stretch goal is a Kickstarter Bonus item, meaning that it will be given free to backers but will be sold as part of the 1st expansion everywhere else.

The Army Ranger acts a sniper and crowd control character. The Ranger is designed to be the best character at dealing with the replication of those pesky robots. His innate ability allows him to remove a monster token from an adjacent tile and once he dons his ghillie suit and sniper rifle, he can sit still and is immune to drawing monster cards. He also has an assault rifle and grenades which deal damage to all monsters in range so he’s great at crowd control too.

Here's my question: You say the Ranger will be sold "as part of the 1st expansion." So, if we buy that expansion, it will have a copy of a character we already have? If this is the case, can we at least get some alternate art on the Ranger's cards? Otherwise, this stretch seems a little pointless. Unless, you mean all of the ks stretches comprise an expansion that will later be sold as a bundle.

Nice update... 2.5 hours before the 48 hour make... can't wait!

That Army Ranger seems a little OP and I can't wait to play him. Awesome stuff! Hope these last 48 hours hit all the new goals.

Also, I know the engraved portion of the upgraded monster tokens is going to be wood colored and not black like in the mock up image, but is the token itself still going to be red?

Really hoping we hit the SG to upgrade to 2mm greyboard. REALLY not a fan of 1mm thick components.

so, how thick are the tokens right now?

Can you give a bit more detail regarding the new mechanics for the three apocalypses? I voted for bugs before, but I'm willing to change if kaiju or dinosaurs brings more to the game.

      Awesome SGs :)
