December Update

Happy holidays!

Sorry for the delay between updates but PAX Unplugged was this past weekend and I’m still recovering. It was fantastic to have so many backers stop by to play games or just say hi. I always tried to say hi back but I lost my voice on Friday so it was a rough convention. As far as your games go, the “Ever Leading” just got to port in Boston this week. Once everything clears customs it will head up to the warehouse in New Hampshire and be prepped for fulfillment. I’ve been in constant contact with the team at Ship Naked but we are in the holiday crunch so while we are going to do our best, I can’t promise games before Christmas. Here is the status of things as far as I can tell:

  • North America (US/CAN) has arrived at port
  • Australia has arrived at warehouse
  • Asia has arrived at warehouse
  • Waiting for confirmation on EU status but assumed to be close to port based on previous information and last update.

Canadian backers be prepared for a delay in your packages.  I'm hearing that while your postal service strike is over, there is an immense backlog of packages. I'm not sure if this backlog will clear out before we start shipping.

EU backers, I know there has been a lot of negative talk online about GamesQuest.  Rest assured that we are not using them this time and will be using Happy Shops in Germany instead.

If you need to change your address, at this point your best bet is to contact ShipNaked directly at https://www.shipnaked.com/address.  They have integrated with the pledgemanager and are starting to batch orders so that they can hit the ground running once the cargo arrives at their warehouse.

I will post another update when shipments start processing. Thanks again for your support.  I can't wait to see people surviving the new apocalypses!

From where does the "rest of world" ship from?

Gavin, thank you so much for under promising and over delivering!! Getting this so soon is fantastic!! BTW, I was very surprised to find out how well this game scales. Playing it with 6 people rather than our normal 3 actually seemed to make it harder rather than easier! Love this game, keep on bringing us new apocalypses... (apocali ? ;-)

@Gavin Robinson, I'm not sure which happy shops you have been using. I currently have three games hijacked by gamesquest. Recent updates says that they'll probably won't be delivered this year.
All happy shops games I have received have been delivered about a week after happy shops have gotten the games. Gamesquest have NEVER been that fast. Even before these last months messups. And besides that, just get used to happy shops, my guess is that gamesquest won't get too many jobs after the brexit idiocy.

Thanks for the update! Getting close!!

Wow, I had no idea the game was even remotely this close. Amazing stuff @Mike, amazing stuff.
+10 to a big box campaign (hold mats and all, seriously, I would drop some cash on that!)

Happy Shops... NOOOO!!! Guess we'll see our copies some time in 2020 :)

I suspect the backlog that Canada Post Corporation talks about has been talking about is exaggerated. I ordered a product from Great Boardgames that shipped during the strike and it got delivered to me within the Delivery Standard of three days. But I could be wrong about that. Looking forward to receiving this sometime in the new year!

Thank you for listening to your backers and keeping clear of GamesQuest. I’ve had good experiences with Happy Shopper.
When do you start you ‘bigger box campaign?’

Good new for the game but not so good for Happy Shop. I have some very bad exepriences with this company...

"Can't promise before Christmas." When the initial plan was next April. Dude, no apologies ever required when you are four months ahead of scedule.

You continue to amaze, thanks for all the hard work!

I can't wait for ship naked to delay the shipment because they "didn't have the correct boxes" like they did for the last two projects I backed that used them.

    18. Sharkey on

Hey you're ahead of schedule, that's all that really matters instead of having it by Christmas! Thanks for the news Mike! =D

The company is called "Ship Naked"? I guess they shipped their pants...

      *ahem*
Seriously, as a heads-up, the Canadian postal strike is over but the backlog may not be the only potential problem. The postal union was legislated back to work by the government, and the union plans on challenging the government order in court. It is possible, depending on the outcome, that shipping to Canada could face additional delays as the strike resumes.

The good news is that at least for now things are moving again.

Thanks for the update. From current experience Happy Shops appear to be suffering quite lengthy delays/backlog the same as GQ, so it's not going to be any better really. The game will get to us when it does. Really looking forward to getting it. :)

I'm really happy you're partnering with happy shops this time, good choice!
