not only protects but also enhances the usability of your laptop"
theGreenCase evolved from the idea of making a laptop
case out of a single sheet of material, which is one of the main criteria for sustainable design. After researching and investigating how
people actually use laptop computers differently from touch pads and stationary
computers, it became very clear to me what I had to create.
Problems with current
One of the main problems I found was that cases are bought
and used just to protect the laptop when you take it from point A to point B. When
it has served its purpose, the case is often times disregarded and stowed away
in a backpack or a drawer somewhere. In some cases the laptop is place on top
of the case, which could limit ventilation and overheat the laptop and cause error messages, lag time,
laptop crashes and program errors.
”How can I create a protective laptop case that is
always in use and that provide the laptop user with the essential features
necessary for a better everyday experience?”
GreenCase is a workstation that lets you bring the comfort of your personal
office with you wherever you go.
The angled keyboard provides a better ergonomically suited
position for your wrists.
If used vigorously, laptops need some sort of ventilation to
The mouse pad provides a smooth and consistent surface for
your mouse, it also naturally clears the area around your laptop from other objects such as pens,
paper, coffee cups etc.
The smartphone has become a close companion to many of us
and we keep it close at all times. The GreenCase has a dedicated scratch resistant
area for your smart phone, which keeps it close and scratch free.
If you are like me, you still jot down notes, reminders or
phone numbers the old-fashioned way, you will like this feature. Since the
GreenCase is made of cardboard and naturally will not last forever, there is no
harm in jotting down notes, phone numbers or even get a little creative with
Documents are laid down flat in the GreenCase, the four
sides folds up and closes the case around them, perfect for transporting and
protecting your letter, legal and A4 size documents.
Pack up and go:
In a fast-pace society it is important that products work
with us to make life easier. The GreenCase is designed for a fast get-away. Because
it is always in use, you simply fold up the four sides, secure and you are on
The BlackCase is the
executive version of the GreenCase, it is hand made from vegetable tanned
tooling leather finished with vegetable based oils and leather balm. This
product will undoubtedly outlive your apple laptop and if you haven’t
experienced the aging process of vegetable tanned leathers; you are in for a
The BlackCase is
currently in production and we expect to deliver in April.
The GreenCase is
designed to mimic the looks and structural properties of a regular cardboard
box used for shipping and storage. There is no need for additional packaging,
which allows for a lower price but most importantly a smaller environmental

What will the
Kickstarter money be used for?
A majority of the money will go to the eco-conscious
materials, and manufacturing of the cases. If possible I would like to raise enough money in
order to protect my design with a utility patent. The design is currently protected
with a provisional patent, which unfortunately doesn’t last very long.
The GreenCase will be made using a manufacturing technique
called die cutting, mainly used to manufacture packaging. Even though the
materials are not very expensive the initial tooling cost to make the die-cut
is. That is why I need your help.

your very own GreenCase.
