Mighty Mighty Becker Backers!

Wow, do we have a big day in store for you today... Three big doozies, one after the other! (And that’s not even counting our Call community vote, coming in another update later today!)

To start things off, let’s get physical! (BTW, if you’re here for the podcast, just keep scrolling, you’ll get to it :)

EXTRA COPIES OF MIGHTY NO. 9, ON A DISC OR USB “CARTRIDGE”, AVAILABLE AS ADD-ONS!

That’s right! Due to overwhelming fan requests, we are happy to offer extra, physical copies (of the Steam PC, Mac, or Linux version) of Mighty No. 9 for an additional price!

These are called “add-ons” because they are items you can order individually, by “adding on” money to your existing Kickstarter pledge (these aren’t yet available on our PayPal page, but will be very soon!).

For our Kickstarter-based fans: Everyone at $20 and above already gets one digital download copy of whatever one version of Mighty No. 9 they would like—but if you want to add-on extra money for extra copies of the game, with this you can!

Here’s what we’re offering, along with prices for both (domestic and international):

  • An extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on disc (Steam version for PC, Mac, or Linux ONLY, your choice—you will choose via a survey later): Add $26 to your pledge ($31 for international backers)
(above) Please bear in mind the disc-art is a placeholder mockup and will change!
  • An extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on a special USB memory stick shaped like either an NES or Famicom cartridge (Steam version for PC, Mac, or Linux ONLY, your choice—you will choose both the platform, and whether you want the NES design or the Famicom design via a survey later): Add $36 to your pledge ($41 for international backers)

(above) These are renders FanGamer is working on of what these USB “carts” will roughly look like; please bear in mind the labels are placeholder mockups and will change, but you can get a sense of the scale by the size of the USB connector.

See anything you like? Here’s how to adjust your Kickstarter pledge to order it!

STEP 1. Everyone who has already pledged to the Kickstarter at any level will see a “Manage Your Pledge” button on the upper right of the Kickstarter page. Click this button, then adjust the amount of your pledge there, in green (see prices above, or check below for some common examples). You should not change your reward tier.

STEP 2. Next click “Continue to Next Step” and finally “Confirm.” Don’t worry that you haven’t told us which version of the game you want for your extra copies yet! After the campaign is over, you will get a survey confirming exactly which items you want added on, and which versions—if applicable—of these items you would like!

And that’s it! Not so hard, right? Well, just in case, let’s walk through the math of some common use cases, so you can make sure you have the idea. Again, you can use add-ons for any reward tier, in combination with as many add-ons as you like. These are just some random examples!

A few examples of add-on scenarios…

The prices again, in case you forgot:

  • An extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on disc: $26 in the U.S., or $31 international, each
  • An extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on a special USB memory stick shaped like either an NES or Famicom cartridge: $36 in the U.S., or $41 international, each

Ex.1 So, for example, let’s say you pledged at the $20 tier already, but you would like an extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on disc, for a total of two copies (one digital, one physical)—you would keep your reward tier at $20, and just add $26 (you live in the U.S.) to your pledge:
$20 + $26 = $46 total pledge

Ex. 2 Another example: If you pledged at the $40 tier already, and would like an extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on disc; you would keep your reward tier at $40, and just add $26 (you live in the U.S.) to your pledge:
$40 + $26 = $66 total pledge

Ex. 3 Another example: If you pledged at the $99 tier, and you wanted an extra physical copy of Mighty No. 9 on the special USB stick; you would keep your reward tier at $99, and just add $36 (you live in the U.S.) to your pledge:
$99 + $36 = $135 total pledge

Ex. 4 You can add more than one add-on as well! Let’s say already pledged for $250 (so you’re already getting a game download code), but you also want another copy of the game on disc, and two USB copies (one NES and one Famicom-style, both), for a grand total of four copies of Mighty No. 9! (God bless you!) Also, you live outside of the United States, so you’ll need to use the international prices. In this case, you would keep your reward tier at $250, and add $31, $41, and $41, all to your pledge:
$250 + $31 + $41 + $41 = $363 total pledge

If you’re still having trouble, your best bet for a fast answer might be to ask the kind folks in the comments section of the Kickstarter page to see if they might be willing to help out, or maybe they can check if your math is correct! We’ll be around as much as we can as well, but with the sheer volume of requests, we’re afraid your fellow Beckers are often a better resource for this kind of thing than we are!

---------------------

Next up, a long-awaited stretch goal announcement:

$3,500,000: PlayStation Vita and 3DS versions!

That’s right! At this level, we can make digital versions of Mighty No. 9 for the two most popular handheld systems out there: the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS! (These will both be added to the list of available systems to choose from, so every backer who is set to receive a download version of Mighty No. 9 can choose either of these as the system for their game download, instead of a home console or PC version.)

We spent the last few weeks running the numbers and talking with various companies to make certain we could not only deliver great handheld versions of Mighty No. 9, but do it for a price that we could set with confidence. Luckily, we found a great potential partner in Abstraction Games -- the team that recently brought Hotline Miami to PS platforms. If we can hit our stretch goal, they are all set to dive in and handle porting Mighty No. 9 to these handhelds!

---------------------

And finally -- thanks for your patience, but we’re here at the final Friday of our Kickstarter campaign, which means our final MightyCast! What? No, don’t be sad -- no time for that now, we got too much awesome pod to get castin’ here! Listen in for a breakdown of all the announcements this week (including those in this update below!), your Skype questions, and best of all, an in-depth interview with Mighty No. 9 game designer Tom Pon! This man is a legend to Mega Man fans, and hopefully will be soon to our Mighty No. 9 community as well -- listen in to find out why!

@Reyd (myself): the answer is actually in the comments. How stupid of me for not reading !

    2. Sapphire Wong on

@Might No. 466 - 'they said KS rules dont allow them to add or edit tiers after a certain point' I see! OTL Well, that's a pity. Thanks for answering my questions though. :)

    3. Aisu on

@ steve you get a dlc code for the system of your chosing but you only get one code

    4. Mighty No. 466 on

@Efren - Youd be shocked what most KS do in the last 3 or 4 days. We have a sot to get there

    5. Sapphire Wong on

@Mighty No. 466 - Ah yes I understand, what i meant to ask was that will the add-on tier which is the physical DISC/USB come with the box and manual? Meaning to say if I just pledged 20 originally for the digital game only, if i add-on 31 will I get the box and manual too?

Oh, I'm sorry cause I'm confused when they added a new tier for the second batch of Keiji Inafune's signed sketch, it makes me think that it's possible for them to add new tiers. :o

    6. Efren Rodriguez on

With only 4 days to go I'm surprised they still have a ??? streach goal. They need all the hype they can get these last few days, may as well show what it is.

    7. Mighty No. 466 on

@Klink180 - there is no physical game tier. It is just an add-on for those at $20 or more. You will get to choose disc or usb by the amount of money left over after they take you pledge money. 26 gets you the disc, 36 will get you choice of famicom or NES USB(US pricing)

    8. Mighty No. 466 on

@Steve - They have said it will be one DLC code per pledge, but I do think you will get the option of what system you want the code for

    9. Efren Rodriguez on

The 3DS and Vita versions should be higher on the list. The more systems the game is on the more it will sell. I wasn't even excited that they revealed it because I doubt that we'll reach it i 4 days. :/

    10. Klink180 on

So, if you got the physical copy tier, do you get to choose whether you want the disc or the usb drive?

    11. Mighty No. 466 on

Not that I mind helping, I just cant answer some of these with 100% answers, sorry

      Green on

@If I get the extra copy, do I still get to use my golden Beck/Special Transformation in both versions? I would want my main copy on Wii U and the extra on Steam.

The physical copy is extra and has no bearing on what platform you want to get the digital copy for.

    13. Mighty No. 466 on

Hey guys, Im trying my best to answer some of these questions the best I can, but there are a ton of us in main comments page with good info and Comcept will reply to some questions from time to time. It mught be better served to add your questions there too

    14. Mighty No. 466 on

@Sapphire - No reward tier comes with physical copy of game. It is only an add-on. But that tier will come with both the America/English and Japan boxes.

I believe that earlier in the main comments, they said KS rules dont allow them to add or edit tiers after a certain point. And with 4 days left, they wouldnt add or change any of the levels.

    15. Steve O'Brien on

If I get the extra copy, do I still get to use my golden Beck/Special Transformation in both versions? I would want my main copy on Wii U and the extra on Steam.

    16. Missing avatar

      inter4ever on

When you say we will choose the platform for the Steam version, does that mean the game won't support SteamPlay? SteamPlay means the same purchase or activation of the game can work on Windows, Mac, and Linux, which you are releasing anyway. I think supporting it will make things simpler for you and the backers.

    17. Knux Kitsune on

Okay, I increased my pledge. Can I still get my digital copy on Wii U, since the physical copy is only on Steam?

    18. Surey D on

You already pay a shipping fee if you live outside the US, for physical stuffs. Is that fee actually to be added along with the pledge and additional cart? -- For example, if someone outside the US pledges the $60 reward, they also have to pay $15 shipping fee. 60+15=75. Then they want an extra USB copy ; do they need to add the extra $41 ? Meaning it gets to 60+15+41=106 ? Or is the shipping fee changed from $15 to $41 like Example 4 seems to be meaning ?

    19. Sapphire Wong on

      I would ask this question at the main comment section but I'm afraid it's drowned by the overflowing comments over there so I'm sorry to move it here. ^^;;

As far as I know, the 250 pledge tier comes with the physical game boxes and manuals for both region, so does the add-on DISC/USB actually come with the boxes and manuals as well or just the DISC and USB? Cause when it says 'extra physical copy-' it makes you think you're getting another copy of the box as well. Also, will the DISC have two regions as well?

Also I've suggested this at the main comment section before, I understand Comcept can't change the tiers and it's understandable for them to charge more for the physical copies of the game. But is it possible for them to add another tier, for example: the 250 tier but without the empty game boxes/digital game downloads and just the physical game with the box and manual along with the other rewards(art book and such). Or put it simply, just a tier with all physical rewards? I personally would prefer to have a tier such as this. I'm sorry if this an unreasonable suggestion, I just want to know if it's even plausible cause as a collector myself, I would love to get as many physical goods as possible, but living outside of the states is making it kinda hard for me. lD; Once again thanks for your time. I respect any decisions you make. :)

    20. Mighty No. 466 on

@Gabriel - Over fan demand has been more for next gens than hand helds, so it came first. And they have already said they wont be making anymore adjustments to goals as it is the last 4 days. Things are set as they are

    21. Mighty No. 466 on

UPDATE: FORUMS to open Oct/Nov time frame.

    22. Mighty No. 466 on

@Walid - It is 20 and above. Sorry

    23. Gabriel Tubino Bonifácio Costa on

      @comcept
why actual portable systems are less priority than future console releases? ):

Please, change the order of goals. I want to play Mighty No. 9 on my 3DS. o/

    24. Alex Parntaprasert on

I forgot yyyeeaa........... 3DS and Vita. I am glad. =)

    25. Alex Parntaprasert on

I just finished listening to podcast and great podcast. Oh yea I am getting two copy of Mighty No. 9. Sweet! USB wooooooooooooooooo!

    26. Walid on

Does this promotion only count for an "Extra" copy of the game or can I add $36 onto a pledge tier of $5 and receive only 1 copy of the game on USB plus the rewards in the $5 tier?

    27. Mighty No. 466 on

59K so far today folks!!!! Beat yesterday already!!!! (`_´)ゞ

    28. Mighty No. 466 on

@Alex - Oh sorry, not by time KS ends though.

    29. Mighty No. 466 on

@Alex - you will. Once pledging is over, they will start to figure them out by who pledge first starting at 900. Youll have it at the latest by Dec when the forums for them open

    30. Alex Grave on

      @Mighty No. 466 - I see, I Wonder if I'll get mine when the kickstarter ends :-/

    31. BluScreen_Jason on

Well if the disc copy still requires Steam I see no point in getting it. Unless the disc version is DRM free I'll pass.

    32. OmegaPineapple on

I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way, but I would rather have the 3ds and Vita stretch goals be prioritized over the ps4 & Xbox one versions.

    33. Mighty No. 466 on

@Renaud - That is an ex-xel-ent question, It would be good for you to take it to the main page. Comcept is most active there and might be able to help on that

    34. Mighty No. 466 on

FYI for all, if you head over to the main comment area, we have a lot more people, able to answer a lot more question there. Please feel free to join us there. We are a fun bunch and love to have new folks join the talks!

      Leviathan MK3 on

@Comcept Love the podcasts and hope that you guys can still do them after the kickstarter.

Also, PLEASE include Volume/SFX adjustment sliders in the beta/final game! A lot of flatscreen TVs seem to have a problem with low volume (as set on the TV) actually being really darn loud, like Megaman 9 was for me unfortunately.

    36. Renaud Lepage on

You have a Facebook Page... why not a Google+ Page and Community?

    37. Mighty No. 466 on

The transformation/Gold Beck will be done via DLC. 1 per pledge, not copy of game as I know now

    38. Mighty No. 466 on

@Andrew - Trying to get some info on special features in physical copy now

    39. HK-47 on

I'd love to have GOG as one of the distribution options. The only downside is that they don't have Linux support (yet).

    40. Mighty No. 466 on

The game will come in a protective sleeve of some kind I believe, and it should fit inside your game box. Not sure if it will be a good plastic one or if it just a paper/cardboard one

    41. Missing avatar

      Andrew Tat on

I am already pledged at the $60 digital package. So if I do get extra physical copies do they come with the kickstarter exclusive stuff like the golden beck and transformation?

    42. Hyperdimension Call on

Can the PS4 and Handheld stretch goals switch places? Seriously... I don't see why there is a demand for a PS4 version when the PS4 can play PS3 digital games with ease.

    43. Mighty No. 466 on

@Jesse- That has been a main subject since the update. All I can say is this has always been discussed as a add-on and not editing the tiers. This was something we asked for and was never in the plans for Comcept to do, and with that, they need the money to produce the physical copies. They are doing the best the can to make it as easy and cheep as possible, but they also understand everyone is not happy and they are sorry for that.

I do not speak for the company; just an active user asked to help. So that isnt official, but the feel of what they have said.

    44. Zento Shazza on

Really glad we can get physical copies now. Especially discs. Luckily, my brother has a Steam account.

    45. Missing avatar

      Travis on

I'm excited about this news but hesitant to change my pledge. I wish there was more time left in the campaign.

If we reach the 3DS stretch goal, I might want to get the PS3, 3DS, and PC versions of the game. Is there a way to add on another digital copy?

Also, I have questions about the physical version of the game:

If you are releasing both DRM-free and Steam-only versions of the PC game for download, why can't the physical copy be DRM-free - you mention in the comments here that an issue is with providing updates to the game if it is not through Steam but wouldn't that issue need to be solved for the downloadable DRM-free versions that were already promised?

How will the disc-version be packaged? Simple paper holder, a clear jewel-case, a DVD case, or something else? Will there be art and text on the packaging like a retail product?

How much space will be on the USB sticks?

    46. Missing avatar

      Jodie Gledhill on

So with the people who have pledged enough to get a physical game box, will we be getting a disc with in the the box?
If not what will the disc be supplied in?

    47. Hypercoyote on

Is the code from the USB stick/Disc going to be transferable? I don't need 4 copies of the game, but I'm considering getting all 3 versions of the media.

    48. Æthereal Bunny on

Well, there goes 26 bucks. Would not be surprised if this boosts the kickstarter so high that Vita/3DS goal isn't as impossible as it seems too...

Also, may I suggest releasing the Call ideas BEFORE the voting starts? You should give time for people to think about it, just in case they rush to pick one without thinking about it.

    49. Luke Ravish on

@Alex Digitally Restricted Media or something. hahah
