They said they'd give you the world.
They said you were needed even.
So goes the Litany of the Four Kingdoms.
The Brahmin promises the peace that passes understanding.
They are naïve.
The Kshatriya promise power beyond your wildest dreams.
Except, there is always a boss above you.
The Vaishiya promise infinite wealth.
But, The Greedy are never sated in this life.
The shudras promise the freedom to follow your dreams.
And,the freedom to starve.
However, there are those that follow their own heart's dictate.
What will you do?
The 4Kingdoms game revolves around four separate secret societies that greatly influence the daily lives of billions of people in their modern world. Players can choose to play normal humans (called “Inerts” in this game) OR powered humans (referred to collectively as the “Gnostics” or "Devas"). Other sentient beings (humans, animals, plants, locations, and even magic items) are left to the Game Master’s imagination (and will be available to players to play in future supplements of the game (if this goes as well as we like).
These powers cease to function if more than one “inert” human is watching, due to the conflicting wills on the illusion of Reality in the immediate area. Characters work in groups of Gnostics / Devas called “Cells,” pursuing the goals of their group or groups, together, in secrecy. Other groups could be pursuing different goals, thus conflict ensues rather quickly. But, sometimes, cells work well together as well; or, at least, ignore the others’ presence in the field. Either provides a great advantage to the lucky cells.
On the outside looking in, the world of the 4Kingdoms looks and acts and seems just like our world. People are born, grow up, get a job, get in relationships, age, and die. However, below the surface, there are actually four super-secret, ultimately powerful groups of people running society from the shadows. Diamonds represent the hard, outer shell of reality--the one that you and me see every day. Diamonds also represent the material world. Diamonds also symbolize the Vaishiya, whose outlook on life generally binds them harder to the real world than many of the others. Vaishiya often possess the Science power which controls time.
The other groups are similar in this respect too. Kshatriya is symbolized by Spades (a kind of weapon, symbolizing the martial nature of the Kshatriya, Shudras are symbolized by Hearts (as Shudras are often very adept at influencing people around them), and the Brahmin whose Clubs symbolize the growing of living things (corresponding to their healing powers in particular).
Sometimes these symbols are encountered as tattoos, spay painted on walls, referred to in language, or left as a cheap playing card to symbolize who was responsible. Most leaders despise any use of the playing card symbols (giving away too much information to the Inerts). This does not stop some from using them. They only have to be more careful that the blame for the symbol is not pinned on them.
This world of diamonds can be a hard, dark place. Ever looked around in our world and wondered why things happen the way they do? Ever felt like the world was being controlled by someone else from the shadows or from the heavens or from denizens below? Ever thought things worked out a little too well for some people and not others? Well, in this game, the characters that you play really does live in such a world.
Very, very few know the true extent of the Four Kingdoms and their influence on the modern world
Few realize that these organizations even exist at all. It is hard to deny that these four organizations developed their system based on the medieval medical theory of Galen, the caste system of ancient India, and the delineation of community tasks used by indigenous peoples of the planet. Presently, the Kingdoms seem to have their hands in everything. But, the best plans of mice and men do go awry. No one is talking, though. To betray the Kingdoms is suicide. To look like you are betraying the Kingdoms is also suicide. After all, who knows enough about the Kingdoms to even call them that? Few. Very few. One begins to sound very paranoid when s/he starts babbling something about conspiracies and shadowy men. Many times the powers that the Chosen possess can make them invaluable. At other times, vassals can become so much collateral damage very quickly.
Perhaps, one day you may notice two people arguing vociferously about a chess game. But, is it really about a chess game? The Secret is alive and well in the world of the Four Kingdoms. These four groups (or are there just two or three? So hard to keep up with them) vie for the future of humanity. When it seems as if one group has lost the day, another group makes a deal to lessen the shock and continue the fray. But, know this: The Kingdoms are eternal and omnipresent, and so are their members.
The subjects of the Kingdoms live in fear of accidentally betraying the secret of their group's presence, and, even, existence. Even in private, many members speak in metaphor, hoping to avoid the ramifications of revealing too many secrets of their Kingdom even to other members of their Kingdom! The unified Kingdom split into four different groups in 1989, during the Dalit Revolution in India, a most holy place to the Devas that think that way. Also, they have been quietly opposing each other and helping their allies ever since. Yes, the identity of allies and opposition can even change in seconds, depending on what is at stake (or who is involved).
Many buildings are used as the headquarters of cells, groups of the Kingdoms' members. Vassals and/or subjects are also words used to refer to the members of the various Kingdoms. The buildings where members meet are often called chapterhouses (or "clubhouses," a term the sanguines came up with in jest) when they are discussed at all. Safe houses are often just buildings that house equipment and those subjects who are on the run for some reason. Ultimately, no one should know of the Kingdoms' existence except its members; and, especially, not the location of its particular havens within a city. Many have died to protect the secret of the very existence of the Kingdoms. Things do go awry once in a while. Often the other Kingdoms pursue such a "traitor" to the ends of the earth and into the Darkness, if necessary.
Certain subjects of the Kingdoms manage to keep their personal lives. However, these are almost entirely limited to the first two ranks of Kingdom society: Apprentices and Agents. Apprentices are contacts and/or allies and/or people who are just discovering a special power within themselves (Level one powers, generally speaking). These are generally referred to as "pawns," among a host of other colorful metaphors. They can be denigrated for their inexperience (though some "pawns" have been more than useful to the Kingdoms), and often there is a tendency to treat them like children. Although, to do so is to push the pawn into becoming (ultimately) unhelpful to the Kingdom, becoming attached to another Kingdom, or completely rebelling against the Kingdom/s involved, etc. Such a pawn might find themselves missing, if they are not very careful. Pawns are useful, but they are not usually important enough to keep from being silenced, if need be.
Agents (also referred to as "knights") deal more with the real world, and they are allowed to keep their relationships with normal people, if they can keep their lives separate. Kingdom life is more like living in the mafia. Few normal people understand the sacrifices one must make to remain a citizen of the Kingdoms.

BOOK 01 Prologue (Oral History of The 4Kingdoms)
A Scribe, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched, first-hand experiences of the members of the 4Kingdoms and hoping to avoid the supposedly inevitable, future apocalyptic years, travels across the United States of America and throughout the world, learning about the origins and the possible fates of the Devas. He records the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who lived, and survived the hell of that dreadful time.
BOOK 02 Fate Master (Secret Language of The Fates)
Amor Fati ‘love of fate’
The Secret Language of The Fates can be used as both a reference book and as a series of guided meditations on the individual and the world's symbols. Each of the seven chapters contain a set of symbols that share a common theme. Extensive research provides readers with the lore and mythological meanings of the symbols to help foster intuitive powers. The explanation of imagery is both insightful and eclectic. Let me be completely honest, this is a huge project and there is a tremendous amount of work ahead to get 4Kingdoms into your hands.
All of the miniatures need to be mastered for plastic production for our 3d printers.
The game components need to finalized and printed , and the game box itself needs to be designed to hold everything securely.
