I wanted to make a game that would be fun for D&D players and people who may have never tried it before. I've always thought that one of the fun things about D&D is learning and rolling the polyhedral dice. So I decided to combine a game like Yahtzee with D&D. The result is a fast-paced, fun, dice-rolling game.
I took the narrative of the game from my fantasy/comedy book series Journal of an Outlaw. Each character plays a rogue trying to open a treasure chest that is protected by 10 locks. Each player takes turns rolling their polyhedral dice to see if they make the combination and open the locks. If unsuccessful at opening a lock, they arm a trap. They get one more chance to pick the lock, and failure means taking damage!
Players take turns trying to open their treasure chest, they are not only trying to get treasure, but must also live to the end! Hit points are exchanged for gold at the end of the game. Whoever winds up with the most gold wins! There are also special skills that can be earned to help your rogue achieve
Risks and challenges
Being the author of the Journal of an Outlaw book series, I attend a lot of book signings. I will be selling the game at all these events. I also plan on selling the game at gaming conventions like GenCon and GrandCon. I would like to be able to pay for the game, and also pay for advertising material and promotion. I want my investors to know that I will be creating more games in the future as the book series seems to be a hit.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
