Welcome to Baby Sherlock: The Crumbs of Baskerville, a children's book written by writer S. Mickey Lin, based on the beloved Sherlock Holmes character, and illustrated by artist Elle Shengxuan Shi.
Baby Sherlock: The Crumbs of Baskerville reimagines Sherlock Holmes as a father to a young detective — Baby Sherlock. Follow along as Baby Sherlock and Baby Watson explore the kitchen of 221B Baker Street in search of Princess Ella’s lost cookie in this original work.
The great news? The book has been written, illustrated, colored, and lettered! We're just looking to raise the money to print it as a beautiful hardcover and mail it to you!
I have many nephews and nieces, whose ages range from 3-8, and I wanted to read them a kid-friendly story about Sherlock.
Baby Sherlock: The Crumbs of Baskerville is an attempt to give them that book. It is the story of a little baby who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest detective, like his father. In his very first case, Princess Ella tells Baby Sherlock of her missing cookie, and Baby Sherlock scours the house to help her find it. He gets into trouble but learns a valuable lesson from the case.
Plus, we love Sherlock Holmes and just want to see a pint-sized version of him.
This is the first in the Baby Sherlock series that we have planned. If the project gets fully funded, we will be encouraged by your interest in the series and we can start working on the next book — Baby Sherlock: A Study in Salmon.

Baby Sherlock: The Crumbs of Baskerville is about 700 words long with 30 fully-colored pages of illustration. Every single book will be hardcover with a cover image by the talented Elle Shengxuan Shi.

Risks and challenges
The book is fully completed. All that remains is to prepare it for actual physical printing. We know the estimated time of delivery from the printers. Our intention is to deliver it to our supporters before Christmas. Although this is our first Kickstarter project, we are both professionals with excellent records in meeting tough deadlines. Therefore, we have much confidence in handling this project well. Of course, unavoidable personal mishaps, acts of God, technical malfunctions, or unintentional mistakes could throw us off schedule, but we will keep Kickstarter backers updated if we do encounter any of such delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
