About this project
The idea behind Journey To Ragnarok was to merge our biggest passions: the 5th Edition of the most famous roleplaying game of all time and, of course, Norse Mythology.
Every single event, NPC or encounter that will cross Adventurers' path is the result of more than 15 years of love and research, readings and travels.
Our intent is to let the Adventurers discover and explore the true origins of Norse Mythology, that has deeply influenced Fantasy literature, games,comics and movies.
Journey To Ragnarok is supplement rulebook containing a Norse adventure module, a background setting and additional rules for 5th Edition (5e).
If funded, we will produce an Hardcover book consisting of 270 to 300 pages, depending on the stretch goals reached, including:
- The Nine Worlds setting based on Norse Mythology
- Adventure Module for players from 1st to 15th level
- New archetypes for all the classes
- The Rune Master: A new playable class!
- The Norse Pantheon: an in-depth description of deities and semi-deities
- The Runic Divination System
- Mythological and Magic Items
- Creatures and Encounters from The Nine Worlds
- Adventure Maps

You will climb from the roots the World Tree Yggdrasil that sustains The Nine Worlds, where everything is balanced by his opposite:
Good and Evil, Light and Darkness, Fire and Ice, Natural and Artificial.

- Alfheim, Home of the Light Elves, the World of Ice and Summer
- Vanheim, Vanir Domain, the Big Forest
- Midgard, the Land of Men
- Jotunheim, the Land of Giants
- Nidavellir, the Land of Dwarves
- Muspelheim, where Fire and Flames dominate, the Land of the Fire Giants
- Svartalfheim, the Land of the Dark Elves
- Niflheim, the Frozen Realm of Dishonorable Death, and under its surface Helheim, Hel's Domain
The Adventure Module of Journey To Ragnarok will be set in The Nine Worlds, each one designed as a sandbox.
Our main reference is the Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson, then the Poetic Edda, and some of the Sagas. We also took inspiration from many monographs about Norse last but not least, Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology.

You will find them sit on their thrones or where they shouldn't be, someone will help you, some others will stand against you.
Face your Fate, Valhalla Awaits you!
The most honorable vikingars from all the Clans of Midgard were sent to the summer raids, but this is the last thing that they remember!
Soon they'll realize to have become part of a game beyond their understanding that will guide them to the Final Battle!
They'll have to climb the world tree through all the Nine Worlds, fight for the freedom of Midgard and join the Asgardian Gods when the Ragnarok comes!
The Adventurers have to follow the Asatru moral code to get a chance to become Einherjar. This includes the pursuit of the Nine Noble Virtues:
Courage, Truth, Honour, Fidelity, Discipline, Hospitality, Self-Reliance, Industriousness and Perseverance.
During their Journey they will fight side by side with powerful Gods against Mythological Creatures in epic encounters, preparing themselves for the Final Battle.
Some spellcasters achieve Wisdom devoting their life to the study of the Futhark Alphabet, becoming Rune Masters.
The Knowledge of the Ages makes them able to carve magic runes that will influence the course of their battles.
The book will contain the character rules to create a powerful Norse wizard with incredible new feats and spells!
We have designed new Archetypes for all the classes of 5th Edition in order to give more Norse characterization to the Playing Characters.
When creating a Character for the Journey To Ragnarok campaign, you can choose to stay traditional or experience the New Archetypes!
Archetypes from Journey To Ragnarok are fully compatible with all others 5th Edition adventures and campaigns!

During their Journey, Adventurers will find Mythological Magical Items that will empower them to fight like gods in battle and make their clashes more epic than ever!

Runes of the Futhark Alphabet can have a strong influence on the course of the Adventure: the Dungeon Master can ask them to define the evolution of the Adventure, the location of a Magic Item or the encounter with a NPC. Futhark Runes are gathered by Three Aett portraying the Domain of their Gods: Freya, Heimdallr and Tyr.
Here come the Reward Tiers! Every Item will be available in ENGLISH or ITALIAN language (you'll decide in the BackerKit survey).
Reward Tiers are totally customizable using Add-ons.
Note that all the images of product here are just previews. The final product may will have a different appearance.
Add-ons can be added to any Reward Tier. You can increase the pledge by the amount of your chosen Add-on when you pledge, or by adjusting the pledge amount through “Manage my pledge”. Add-ons can also be managed after the Campaign ends, through BackerKit survey.
The Funding Goal of the Campaign intents to cover the production costs, including (mainly) illustrations, graphics, translations and printing. We decided to use the funds to improve your gaming experience, upgrading the book and the adventure!

Journey To Ragnarok is an italian project that we present in two languages: English and Italian.
If funded, you're going to choose your version with a BackerKit survey.
We'll ship anywhere in the World and, if we succeed, shipping costs will be collected after the Kickstarter Campaign.

Risks and challenges
Our challenge is to share our passions creating adventures and settings for players and Dungeon Masters as we are. We decided to start a Kickstarter Campaign to raise enough funds to realize our project, using all our efforts.
We already wrote the story, the settings, started to playtest the Adventure Module, designed the layout and produced some artworks; we need funding to upgrade artworks in the book, to translate and to print it.
The goal is to improve as more as possible the quality of the book and the experience of the gamer!
