We are raising funds for the first ever Webcomic Underdogs Anthology! Ever since the inception of Webcomic Underdogs, we’ve dreamed of putting together an anthology that showcases our member’s talents. Please help our dream become a reality by contributing to our campaign!
The anthology will largely consist of never before seen art and short stories from various webcomic creators - work that you can't find online currently. Our plan is to distribute the comic at conventions, local comic and book shops, and through our website. And, if the anthology proves to be the success we're hoping for, we'd like to create a series of future anthologies and hopefully get them distributed by Diamond distributors. If this happens, we'll be holding open submissions for members to submit their work for future anthologies. But that, of course, all hinges on the success of this first issue!
Here's an example of some of the artwork you can expect to see in the book!
Included in the anthology is art and short comic stories from several of our talented Underdogs:
-CB Webb: Schizo Stories
-Sarah Driffill: Princess Chroma
-Daniel Sharp, Nickolas Sharp and Sebastian Piriz: The Demon Archives
-Jab Bers: Monkey, Dog, Snake, Human
-Bryan Fleming: Battlecroc
-Michael Yakutis and Marisa Brenizer: My Girlfriend’s Dog and The Maidens
-Ethan Kocak: The Black Mudpuppy
-Charlie Wise: Groovy, Kinda
-Wally Nguyen (cover), Comatose
We really want this book to shine, so we are looking to get it printed at the highest quality possible. The anthology will be printed through a reputable bulk printer as a standard sized stapled comic of approximately 36 pages in length. It'll be in full color on high quality gloss coated paper. Nothing but the best! Let's face it - there are a lot of comic book readers out there who don't really see webcomics as true comics. We believe that if we can present readers with a high-quality printed collection, they'll see that webcomics are just as valuable as printed comics, if not more so.
We are trying to raise $2,500 in funds to cover the cost of printing the book, shipping the incentives, and paying Kickstarter their 5% fee. If we exceed our initial goal, we have some great stretch goals in mind!

Risks and challenges
The majority of the work has been completed for the anthology and we are in the process of collecting the content from contributors. It mainly all comes down to printing. If we don’t reach our funding goal, we will be unable to print and ship the anthology. We have been in direct contact with a printer and do not expect any significant printing issues, but there is always the possibility of shipping delays due to unforeseen circumstances. If for some reason we are unable to fulfill certain incentive items, we will see to it that the incentives are fulfilled with items of equal or greater value (but this will almost certainly not happen).
If any issues or changes arise, all backers will be promptly informed. We will keep everyone updated on the status of orders as things move along, and we are easy to get in touch with if you have any questions or concerns. Quite frankly things are looking pretty good!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
