You can also paint the backs of the 3/4 player tiles red. There's a more detailed guide on the geek, but the basic idea is you paint broadly, then rub the tile, painted side down, against a rag to get rid of the excess. When it dries, rub it again against a clean piece of paper and it'll polish up nicely.

    2. Peter Emuss on July 17, 2012

Just a note - a red permanent ink pen and a steady hand are all you need to recover the factory error on the blue and green tiles. Done it on mine and it looks really good.

Of course, now they've dropped in value from being Kickstarter exclusives and I'll no longer be able to sell them 10 years into the future as rarities, but nevermind.

Received mine in the UK on Wednesday :) (wearing the tshirt as I type this!)
have had lots of fun playing it :D
shame about the 3-4 player tiles not having red ink but realise its not really Michael's fault and is still playable - was free so can't complain anyway ;)
all in all very pleased, good quality game - thanks TMG :D

Received my 3 copies today, and then received another package with 6 more copies? 6 freebies seems a little too generous. Is this an error?

    11. Michael Mindes 33-time creator on July 12, 2012

@Matthew- The lack of red ink on the back of the 3-4 player tiles is a result of a miscommunication or lack of communicating this will the factory. Also, as a result of not seeing physical proofs for those tiles.

Re: the packaging dimensions, the original game fits snugly inside of the box. That is why I chose those dimension. I committed to not packaging air for this game, and I stuck to it...

@Peter Wilson - Just got mine in the UK! Looks very impressive and can't wait to get home and play. Survived customs without charge too.

Received my copy a few days ago, and overall I'm pleased. We've played about twelve games thusfar, and it's a fun and mechanically effective abstract filler game, and should be a great alternative (or companion) to Hive Pocket when it comes to building my IceBox in the coming year.

Having spoken about the disparity between ink-white inking and bakelike-cream tiles previously, I just want to sound in with a few other commenters here. The special 3- and 4-player tiles suffer for lacking red inking on the deactivated side. It becomes difficult to grasp at a distance the active and inactive tiles, and a few times people have made devastating gameplay mistakes because of it. Were it not a one-off production, I'd strongly recommend adjusting it in the future, but I fear that's unavoidable now (however, I may consider reinking them myself at a later date).

Additionally, I was a little disappointed with the bag. A great deal of threads had frayed from the neck of the bag, and the transfers leave the bag with a tell-tale sheen in parts which makes the bag feel lacking in production value. I know they're extras, and I'm happy to receive and use them, but it seems as though the same effort put towards the production value of the main game was not implemented for the Kickstarter bonuses. I'd recommend it be something you keep in mind for projects to come.

A final quibble - is there a reason you chose the packaging dimensions you did? I would have expected a box that would fit tiles cleanly, but in order to close the box I need to develop angled stacks. I'm mostly curious about the choice of box size at this point; does it fit a standard card game size, like Jab, or is it for a different reason?

Again, I want to make clear that this has been great fun to play, and I don't see getting tired of it any time soon. I love the character of design for the images, and the tiles have good weight and inking. Thank you for publishing this game, and for offering such an amazing stretch goal (seriously, I've scarcely seen like its ilk), even if I have reservations about the production value. Sorry for rambling, I just want to see your company continue to get better!

I'm a bit annoyed that the tiles aren't consistent (the whole red/white thing), but am relatively pleased otherwise.

I just got mine. The tiles look great! I don't really mind the different color backs of the tiles. The box is nice and very easy to travel with. Player markers and starting player marker is included. Everything looks great. And the free bag isn't anything too special but it's nice, it can keep all the pieces and is cool for traveling with. Overall I'm very pleased with my set. I actually got two sets because I thought it would make a nice gift.

@Aisha: some people got extra copies by accident. They posted an email address at boardgamegeek where you could inform them and they would figure something out:

Why haven't I gotten mine yet??

    25. Aisha on July 7, 2012

Also, why do backs of the green and blue tiles have white ink instead of red?

I dont mind so much that the fronts have different ink colors, but half the backs being red and half being white is really confusing.

    26. Aisha on July 7, 2012

Was there some sort of 'get a bonus copy of the game' that I missed? I pledged at the $15 dollar level and got more than one.

I got mine yesterday... Its a fun game but Im disapointed in the tiles.

The white tiles really should have been a bright white - the tan-white just looks dingy. They are bright white in all of the graphics... but then you look at the pieces and they are cigarette smoke stained looking off white.. :(

With 4 players, the colors of the tiles are just not cohesive. Blue, Green, Tan-White, Black with Bright White ink, Black ink and Red Ink.... Not to mention that the X side of the blue and green tiles is white while the X side of the black and white tiles is red...

Its a fun game but Im left with wanting better components, no way I would pay $25 outright for this, even with the expansion.

Got mine on Monday. Wife is out of town so it wait her return.

I was a little upset that the box didnt hold the 3-4 player pieces better. And personally I would have likes to have been able to put the bag in the box when it's not being used.
