This Kickstarter project is for the funding of both a new expansion to Eminent Domain called Exotica AND Battlecruisers which is a stand-alone small box game in the Eminent Domain universe.
You can pledge for either game or for both. Exotica requires Eminent Domain to play, but Battlecruisers requires nothing but itself.
Stretch Goal and Add On info is at the bottom of this page.
Eminent Domain: Exotica is an expansion to Eminent Domain and the base game is required to play. The following video will show you both how to play and one reviewer's opinion of Eminent Domain.
Included in the Exotica expansion are some elements that were introduced in the Escalation expansion, though the Escalation expansion is not a must to add Exotica to your game play, here is a review that talks about some of the additions as well as a review of what has been added so far:

The asteroid belt marking the edge of charted space has now been made useful, no longer posing a barrier to further exploration and expansion. Exotica adds Asteroids to the Planet deck, these can be settled and attacked as normal, or a new Mining action allows Asteroids to aid in the expansion of your empire. Rarely do these floating hunks of rock gain you any influence, but there are still advantages to having them which we are only starting to discover.
In addition to the new uses of Asteroid usage that is being pioneered, new relations with Alien life is being developed. Planets and Tech will start to reflect this Alien influence on our future society. We start to see this influence with Exotic Role Symbols that by themselves are useless...but when properly translated they can yield dramatic results.

In Battlecruisers you are all commanders in a deadly contest over a crucial objective. Each commander is in control of their own deep space Battlecruiser seeking to either gain advantage over or eliminate the opposition.
Each game of Battlecruisers has a coded objective. As a Commander seeking a Glorious Victory you will find yourself relying heavily on your crew; specifically your Ambassador, Captain and Security Chief hoping your Supply Convoy arrive at the right times. For objective Scorched Space, proper timing of your Targeting CPU, Disruptor Rays and Tactical Nukes will stand between victory or defeat, just make sure to Salvage what you can and keep your Armor Plating up.
Battlecruisers has various prebuilt objective sets, players may also randomly select their objective set. Once a set is chosen, each player will pull out the cards needed, the rest of their pool of cards can be returned to the box. Follow a few more things to set up the game and you are ready to play.
Here is a preview done by John with Chalk Board Reviews that shows you how Battlecruisers is played. John also shares his thought about Battlecruisers as well at the end of the video.

Risks and challenges
Tasty Minstrel Games (TMG) has delivered numerous games throughout the world. Some that were funded on Kickstarter and some that were not. As an established small games company, the real question is making sure we manage potential sources of delay and communicating clear expectations throughout the campaign and after the funding ends.
Two primary sources of delay are staying on top of production and completing art in a timely fashion. These two things are closely related, of course. To address any concerns related to production, TMG hired an operations manager to escort everything through the checkpoints and hurdles with our manufacturers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
