Have a question?
Eddie, I mailed your wife $20 to say that.
Our tentacles are everywhere.
I got my copy the other day and decided to leave it on the counter, turned over. Now my wife is reading it... and asked where the first volume was.
Nice back! :-)
I just received my copy today Mike!
Once again fantastic job!
It's much appreciated.
Copies should be there any day now, folks! Anybody who doesn't have their book by next Wednesday, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get you one directly.
I submitted the order June 24th; then it got printed, shipped to the polybaggers, and then shipped back to the printers for mailing. This is inefficient and we will fix it for Issue 3. (They didn't tell me about the extra step until after I'd paid them -- and started bellowing, "Where my magazines AT?" in their general direction.)
Anyway, thanks for your patience and rest assured, if you ordered a book, you'll get one. Even if I have to pack and mail it myself. :-)
Michael: thanks, I just got the magazines yesterday. It must have been delayed in the mail or something. I'm very excited to read them now. :)
Still waiting on my copy as well. As far as I know I provided the right address, so let me know if it was shipped or not! Thank you.
Hello! I, too, have not received my copy. I did send you my snail mail address, and it was correct. They don't call it snail mail for nothing! Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks!
Joe, I'm going to send you the address we used; but since it was a PO Box, you might ask at your PO -- the issue might've been too big to fit in the box.
Christina, I just checked and you were in the first mailout several weeks ago-- the only thing I can think of is the Royal Mail; other Canadian backers have told me of problems.
Can you contact the Royal Mail? If it doesn't turn up, holler and I'll see what more I can do from my end.
I have not yet received mine either. There was a typo in the first address I submitted, but I submitted a corrected address by email. I hope that isn't the reason I haven't gotten mine.
I still haven't received the magazines.I double checked and am sure I gave the right address in the survey. :(
Stefan, they were printed last week and should be in the mail now. Keep your eyes peeled. If you don't have them by this time next week, I'll call the printer and raise hell.
When is the book shipping out?
Received both editions on PDF. Looks real interesting. Thanks :)
You asked about T shirts? Get Chris Bonno's print of George Carlin (from a painting I commissioned), put it on a T with some funny saying of Carlin's and watch the sales fly off the shelves. We need Carlin on our backs now more than ever. Just saying.
I would like to suggest Rick Geary for the shirt design (or one of the shirt designs). He’s an old Lampoon contributors and he’s got a strong, bold graphic style that would make for a great shirt illustration. He should be in the magazine as well (if you haven’t already contacted him). Ooo, maybe a big fold-out! He does great maps and cross-sections!
Hi Mike and congrats! I'd buy a t-shirt. Perhaps backers could vote on designs.
Thank you, everybody -- none of this -- not one little bit -- would be happening without your faith and generosity. It is a dream, and you're making it happen. Thank you.
My first Kickstarter project! So excited to see this brilliant concept taking shape. I need to laugh more. Thanks, Michael. (And thanks to Merrill for spreading the word.)
Mike, I am delighted to become one of your community and I am looking forward to reading your magazine. I love that you, and Kate, are able to live your dreams. I wish everyone could.
oh thank christ.
Oh I'm so glad you thought so, Wendy! I was sitting here half-naked and groggy in the rosy-fingered dawn, terrified I'd go off on some ill-considered rant.
The NPR interview was GREAT!!!! Way to go you guys!!!!! Rock on.
"BOOM, Arthur. Your wish has been granted."
Hhhmm.... the last time I heard that, I ended up with this foot-tall man playing piano...
@John Crumrine, I'd be happy to do that. Satisfied backers are our best advertising. I will send you a link to the PDF, and trust you to upgrade to whichever level you wish.
Any other backers, I am happy to send you the link to #1, if you're willing to be our ambassadors.
Hi Michael! I'm currently sitting at the $5 pledge level, but I want to upgrade to the 'Catch up' $25 level if it's possible to deliver issue #1 PDF before the campaign is over. You see, if it's hilarious I want to convince all my friends to pledge for both issues along with me. What do you say? Can we make that a reality? Looking forward to the laughter.
Matt, that's just how we roll here. The Bystander aims to be inefficient but affectionate. It is a humor magazine for our cold, hard world.
I will pass along your kind words to Mr. BMc. We've got lots more great stuff from him in #2.
I pledged $6.32, and you sent me a personalized comment. I've never gotten one of those on Kickstarter, so I upped my pledge to $20.54. Still whimsical, but more money. You first issue's article about falling off the roof had me crying with laughter. I look forward to crying again.
Thanks for adding the PDF-only level. I switched to it, but added in extra money to show my appreciation.
BOOM, Arthur. Your wish has been granted.
Any chance of getting just PDF's of 1 and 2? Or is that only if you're able to offer the PDF subscription?
Go crush it, Mike!
Ten percent of the way home in a matter of hours. This makes me very happy. Viva The American Bystander.
