About this project
We did it! We've reached our goal thanks to Kickstarter and its donors, but we still aren't finished. We are still accepting support and donations until the end of May. Funds will help expand this project even further as well as benefit the future projects in the series. Thank you so much for helping make this possible and continue sharing!

MOON is a silent short film that takes a different look at the elegance of the moon and the allure of the night, often ignored and taken for granted. A young man, who lives in a world void of natural light at night, finds the moon in the woods. He takes the moon on a journey and presents it to the city where the citizens are in awe. The man arrives at a lake where he releases the balloon into the sky to illuminate the night.
To create the moon, a company called Airstar is donating a five foot in diamater helium balloon light, often used to light entire outdoor scenes for film. After filming the balloon, a group of computer animators will create a three dimensional moon to place over the balloon. The balloon provides a soft white glow while the moon provides the suspension of disbelief.
This project is the first in a series I hope to create that exhibits young adults enjoying the simplicities in life.
The donations provided help create this film. We were fortunate enough to have the helium balloon donated, but helium is still a major portion of the budget. We need a truck to transport the delicate balloon and equipment safety from location to location. As a school related project, insurance will be required.
