A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

MetaMotion is a miniature Bluetooth IMU (inertial measurement unit).
The IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) collects angular velocity and linear acceleration data.
Our quarter-sized sensor is an ARM Cortex M4F (nRF52) with onboard 9-DoF IMU, high precision altimeter, and 2.4GHz wireless communications at 33kb/s (Bluetooth Low Energy).
MetaMotion is iOS, Windows, and Android compatible, leveraging the advantage of the mobile ecosystem to help get your project running in no time. Our open source APIs are available as Java, Objective-C, C++, C# and Swift libraries.
We have example applications to help you interface your MetaMotion sensor to tablets, computers and smartphones.
The unit is very versatile, performing accurate, high speed orientation and displacement measurements. By the use of three different MEMS sensors (3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer) drift-free, high-speed orientation data around all three axes is achieved.
The optional temperature and barometric pressure sensors allow accurate altitude measurements.
MetaMotion communicates with a host system via a Bluetooth 4.0 connection.
Multiple MetaMotion units can be used simultaneously with one host system (7 units maximum on Windows/Android*, 6 units on iOS*).
The sensor is capable of a data transmission rate of up to 125Hz. The sensor is also capable of logging sensor data at up to 800Hz to be downloaded from the internal 8MB of FLASH memory at a later time.

We are a group of hardware and software engineers with a passion for sensors. We have been working on sensor technology for over 5 years and this is our favorite creation. We have been working on prototypes for 4 months including CAD/schematics/circuits/prototypes for the PCB and CAD for the Case. We wanted to keep the item as green as possible so we use recycled materials and we refurbish the bands. A single package comes with the following items:
1 x MetaMotion sensor board
1 x White plastic case
1 x Black rubber wristband
1 x 100mAH battery
The case is made out of white polished plastic and snaps together as two pieces. The case includes a push button and there is also a slit for air to pass through to the barometer. Finally, there is an opening for the micro-USB port used to recharge the board.
The wristband is made of black or grey rubber with plastic fastening pieces.
The board is 2.5mm thick and neatly houses the 100mAH battery snugly below the board. It is multi layer PCB board and is proudly made in the USA.

Risks and challenges
There are always significant challenges in manufacturing and delivering any hardware product at scale. Fortunately, we've have been working hard and have established relationships with manufacturing partners in the US that will help us bring MetaMotion to your doorstep.
Of course, there are still risks associated with producing MetaMotion. Unexpected changes in component lead times, availability, and cost are examples of factors outside our direct control that could affect our delivery timeline, but we are working hard to mitigate those risks and plan to be transparent throughout the delivery process.
There are additional risks involved with the physical delivery of your reward. There are a number of unforeseen circumstances that can cause problems during the actual physical shipping of MetaMotion. Since unforeseen circumstances can sometimes impact the shipping world, we will also make sure to have methods/resources in place to overcome any difficulties.
Please note that the final look and features of the MetaMotion are subject to change based on your feedback and circumstances outside of our control such as component availability.
