July 2015 Update

Posted by ME Models (Creator)

I have been getting a lot of emails lately asking for an update, so I figured it was time to send one out.

On the metal side, we have in place what needs to be done to move forward.  It's just a matter of selling enough plastic to pay for it now.

On the plastic side, we're grateful to our many new retail outlets who are carrying our product.  It's with their support that we have been able to keep the business model flowing and ship out more of our backer's items.

I know the big question everyone has is "when" and I wish I could provide a solid answer to that.  We are working as hard as we can in order to get your items out and they will be shipped as soon as possible.

Thanks for your continued patience.

      @Marvin - No, because we still will be producing metal for those who want it. Our main focus of the project was metal and plastic was a "second" thought. Thanks for the idea though.

      @Kai-
      1. That all depends. If we can generate a good amount of wholesale sales to stores, we will have no problem getting the metal up and running. We have been talking to an average of about six store per day and sending them our literature in order to keep things moving. So far, everything is very promising, however, as I always say, a sale isn't a sale until the check is in hand and the product has been delivered.

      2. Yes.

      3. Yes and that is our plan. As sales of plastic are made, we are filling orders as well as sending items to backers using product on hand. It has been taking longer than I had hoped, but we're making progress, albeit, slowly.

      I second Kai's question about those of us who pledged for metal rails and then paid for additional plastic and / or metal rails getting our plastic rails first and our metal rails later.

      Thanks for the update, don't mind the delays when we have an idea of what is happening. I have three follow-up questions, when you have a moment:

      1) How much plastic sales are needed to get the metal rails in production? Rather than a $ figure, do you estimate that you will need months of plastic sales, or weeks?

      2) Are your retail sales driving the production of everything including unfulfilled plastic orders?

      3) For the backers who have a mix of metal and plastic, would you be able/willing to send their plastic parts out sooner, and then send the metal rails later when ready? Those who want to exercise that option may be willing to add some $ to cover the shipping cost for the metal rails when they are ready.

      Here is an interesting question. Would it help you from a cost point of view to change our "pledge" from a metal to a plastic one?

      Thanks
