About this project
Running Horses Studio 'Mustang Mansion' Road Tour
We will be hitting the road end of April through September taking the little 1969 vintage tincan called the 'Mustang Mansion' across 7 western states. As an artist I will be taking my art across the west to show the beauty of our country's wild mustangs, with guitar in tow to share original music along the way. We will be making stops across the west at art shows, mustang related eventing, and assisting Mustang Sanctuaries by hosting art shows and using the 'Mustang Mansion' as a marketing tool to draw the crowds! The shelves will be filled with educational DVD's, Books, Brochures, wearable art and more to distribute, sell and promote awareness for our Wild Mustangs. The outside of this little 'tincan' will be the marketing tool with mustang murals around the outside to connect the public to our American Living Legends. The funds will be used to keep gas in the truck as we travel across the west, and to invest a portion into 'products' that help promote the preservation of our American Wild Mustangs. I will be on the road with my husband and occasional mustang maniac friends as we push across the west! The RV has been purchased and renovated inside, and I am presently painting the murals on the outside with web-links in preparation for our launching out the end of April. Keep your eyes open as we may come through a town near you!

Running Horses Studio and The Mustang Mansion
“Building a Bridge with Creativity”
Artist, Singer, Songwriter - Melody Perez
A creative passion for the horse as a child, rebirthed with an affection for the Wild Mustang of the America’s. Fine Art Painter Melody Perez relocated to the west two years ago with a vision to get back to her artistic roots, discovering the Wild Mustang as she researched for painting equine subjects. Her painting technique is vivid and realistic as she re-creates on canvas the Spirit of these Living Legends and the land they dwell on. Her first original was of a young stallion from the Sand Wash Basin HMA in Colorado. Little did she know the path she would begin as she continued to paint the Mustangs. Her first trip to the range was at SWB last year photographing the Wild Ones and building a portfolio to work from as well as experiencing the connect to the wild on the rangeland. Her passion continues being fueled by trips to public rangelands, wild horse sanctuaries, and participating in training events with the Wild Mustangs. Over the last year and half ‘Running Horses Studio’ has participated in countless art shows, equine events, mustang competitive and adoptive events, painting onsite at sanctuaries, to helping coordinate benefits and working with diverse organizations to help bring awareness and education around the Wild Mustang.
This year Melody has acquired a vintage ‘tincan’ RV, aptly named ‘The Mustang Mansion’, with a full tour scheduled for 6 states already this spring and summer. The Mustang Mansion is loaded with mustang artwork, books, DVD’s, educational materials and a myriad of other enticing items to win hearts to the Mustang. With murals of the western landscape and it’s wild inhabitants on the exterior of this little ‘Mustang Mansion’ it is an eye grabber for the passerby and curious of heart.
As Running Horses Studio crosses western states in this Mustang Mansion, there will be a collaborative work of bringing advocates and Management Authorities together in hopes to create working relationships bringing awareness and viable solutions to the preservation and humane welfare of our Wild Mustangs. Presently we are seeing wonderful cooperative and collaborative events in the works helping to achieve this goal. Together, we can make a difference for the Mustang.
