The Banner Saga: Warbands is a fully cooperative game for 2-4 players. Players take up the role of the leaders in a warband tasked with keeping the warband together and alive.
This Kickstarter exclusive miniature represents the warband as it moves across the world of The Banner Saga. It comes with two banners: one silver and one gold. These banners are used to track the strength of the warband and slot into the exclusive miniature.
There are four roles in the warband: Quartermaster, Keeper of Names, Warmaster, and Thane. Each role must aggressively push for resolutions that help out themselves, while being open to compromise for the good of the warband. It is this conflict and compromise that is the heart of Warbands.
The Banner Saga: Warbands is about making hard choices and those choices manifesting in resolutions that are unexpected and ramifications that reach far into the warband's journey. The double-sided cards provide a choice with no hint to what resolution awaits. The game exists in this space of making a decision without knowing the consequences.
Combat is fast. Each skirmish takes about 10 minutes. It is completely tactical. There is no luck involved. There are no dice, no random cards being played. It relies entirely on the warband's ability to look at the board and defeat the enemies while taking as little damage as possible. Even in combat there are hard decisions to make. Not everyone will survive.
The game has been in development for 14 months. It has gone through testing. The rules have been written and laid out. Every sculpt is done. When the KS ends everything goes into production immediately.
We are known for the quality of our miniatures. The Banner Saga: Warbands miniatures will be the same high quality, hobby-level plastic miniatures backers have come to expect from MegaCon Games.

Shipping information - Please take note
We are charging shipping after the Kickstarter ends. This cost will be based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign concludes.
This charge will be calculated by our shipping partner with maximum discounts applied.
Simply put, shipping costs change considerably in the months between a KS end and the actual shipping date. Estimating future costs in the present is impossible, and not being flexible enough to recoup shipping costs is not economically feasible.
Additionally, MegaCon Games will be responsible for shipping a backer's reward ONCE to the address on file. If the backer has not taken the responsibility to update his or her address, or does not claim the package in the time provided, then reshipping the item will be done so at additional expense to the backer.
Digital products will be delivered via code through the pledge manager. All game codes will be a STEAM Code. No substitutes. Backers will verify their order and provide an email address. Versus Evil is only able to deliver digital goods if the backer makes the selection via the pledge manager. Versus Evil cannot deliver any game codes, soundtrack codes, or book codes until the pledge manager closes. The codes will be sent to the provided email address. We will announce when the pledge manager opens and closes. The pledge manager will be opened 30 days after the KS ends.
All digital goods and software is being handled by Versus Evil. If you have any issues or problems with the digital goods, please contact Versus Evil directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Risks and challenges
This is our fourth KS. We have produced miniatures, dice, books, cards, maps, and counters. The estimated delivery date is August 2016. This is only an estimate. From past experience, the more successful the KS the longer the delays, but we have always delivered. We understand that with anything produced overseas delays can happen, especially with shipping and customs. Also, due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others.
We've done our best to minimize unknown risks as much as a company can. We will communicate all the pieces and parts through KS updates. Through the entire process of the KS (pledges, production, and fulfillment) we communicate.
MegaCon Games is making no announcements of delivery dates, launch dates, or otherwise about Banner Saga and Banner Saga 2 games. Stoic and Versus Evil are solely responsible Banner Saga video game news. Banner Saga 2 is currently in development and Versus Evil will be making an announcement about its launch date at the appropriate time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
